Grameen Foundation is a global nonprofit that invests in the power of women living in poverty and hunger, transforming the economic and social systems that stand in their way. We do this through local partnerships, leveraging our robust evidence base and global network to connect women to markets, financial products, gender equity training, and peer networks.
We were founded in 1997 to take global the inspired women-focused anti-poverty efforts of Nobel Laureate and social entrepreneur Muhammad Yunus. We are led today by prominent women’s advocate Zubaida Bai.
As a result of our evidence-based, human-centered solutions, women in the communities we serve grow their income, agency, and resilience, bringing greater prosperity to their communities.
