Karla Lee founded Voice4Kids because she experienced the pain of divorce firsthand as a child. She is passionate about raising awareness of how divorce affects children and the emotional weight they often carry.
Struggling to find resources that truly spoke to her experience, Karla wrote Please Don't Go!—her own story—to help other children navigate the challenges of parental separation. After undergoing years of personal healing and counselling, she felt a deep calling to ensure no child endured the same pain for as long as she did (17 years). She also recognised that many parents and stepparents needed guidance on how to support their children through divorce.
In 2003, at Sydney’s Parliament House, Karla launched her book with the support of Barbara Holborow (OAM), former Magistrate of the NSW Children's Courts, who endorsed both of her books.
The journey of Voice4Kids has been long, but Karla has never given up hope.
