This song is an homage to what I feel are the two sides of my musical heritage - my mother was a classically trained guitar and piano teacher, and my dad’s favourite genre was Disco Polo. These two musical worlds are polar opposites so the oldies radio station acted as the peace-maker of our home when I was a child. Somehow after everything I wanted to be a folk singer, and so here is my folk tale about those two worlds and how they’re still a part of me after all this time.

Disco Polo is the music I was embarrassed of as a kid but as an adult came to be charmed by it , most of all at the end of weddings when your ciocia or wujek and even babcia would get on the dance floor and show the kids how it’s really done. I am in love with this video we made paying homage to that feeling, and so grateful to have shared the stage and screen with three legends of dance in Quebec, who became spiritual stand- ins for the women in my family, and taught me so much about performance and grace in one day - Merci Diane Carrière, Louise Lussier et Louise Bédard pour tout ❤️
