The video for “Curtain Call” , made with vhs footage shot by Vincent René-Lortie and super 8 footage shot by Colin Medley, and lovingly quilted and edited together by Colin to feel like a sweet home movie.
I wrote this song after a deep season of new motherhood when I was questioning my place on the stage. Would I feel like I could sing the old songs after so many changes? Did I belong up there anymore? Did it even matter if I don’t? Songwriting is like a magic eight ball when you’re looking for answers and every time I asked this song kept insisting that if I could stop questioning and just keep making things, keep singing, keep playing… that I would let myself be born again in every line of every song.
It’s a lucky chance that people still come to hear me sing and make something in that moment together ❤️ I know it’s still November but thank you to everyone who came to the shows this year - you truly made this a magic season for me , getting to come back to cities I hadn’t been to in years and feeling so at home seeing so many of you after so long!
