My family's journey with music began in 1976 while we resided in the foothills of North Carolina, in a community known as New Hope. My dad, Bobby, played the piano and sing with my mom, Fern, for many years before my brother, Lewis, and I came along. One night, dad attempted to teach me the bass guitar. I was eight and had no interest in it. My desire was to sing. Lewis, on the other hand, was six and took to it naturally. After learning three chords on the bass from Dad, he was hooked. Lewis went on to play the bass, drums, and eventually the piano for our family until we stopped touring in 1988. Our vocal blend, enhanced by Lewis's musical arrangements, was truly special. The Singing Wells Family performed across the eastern United States and even up into Canada. We produced two albums together. Those days of singing and traveling with my family are among the most cherished times of my life. In 1992, I had the opportunity to join the Telestials for eight years. Great Times!
