This is what got me into fitness — and why I never stopped.
I’ve always been the athletic type. I wasn’t the kid sitting in the front row solving math problems — I was the one joining every sport my school had.
Junior varsity? I was on every team. Soccer? That’s where I performed best. I was always moving, running, and competing. But for years… I never touched a barbell.
I didn’t step foot in a gym until I was 25. Before that? Just two dumbbells at home, max 20kg, doing programs like P90X3 and Focus T25.
What pulled me into the gym was this realization:
“You can actually control how your body looks and performs — not everything, but a lot.”
You can’t change your genetics, sure — but you can control your muscle mass, body fat, and strength through training and nutrition. That concept fascinated me. Still does.
At first, like most guys, I just wanted to look good. Get lean. Get the abs. Get attention. But after a while… that wasn’t enough. Training just for aesthetics felt shallow — and to be honest, boring.
That’s when my goals shifted. From looking fit to moving like an athlete. From training for vanity to training for performance, strength, and longevity.
Now, I train to be powerful, capable, and pain-free. I want to feel strong at 40, 50, 60. And I love knowing that at my age, my athleticism is on par with college-level athletes.
Do I still care about aesthetics? Sure. But now, looking good is just the side effect — Strength is the goal.
Because in my eyes, strength solves everything. And there’s nothing cooler than being super strong. (Still feels like a young boy’s dream, honestly.)
The way I train isn’t complicated. I just focus on getting stronger — consistently. Progress feels amazing. Plateaus frustrate me. But I know I’m nowhere near my limit… and that keeps me going.
⸻
🙋‍♂️ I now coach others to do the same: Build a body that’s strong, capable, and built to last. If you’re tired of chasing aesthetics with no structure or purpose — I’ve been there.
Let’s build strength that sticks. DM me “STRONG” — I’ll show you where to start.
