English Champion is here to serve people toward a deeper interest in the English language and the myriad ways in which it is produced. All cultural creation falls under the purview of English studies, and this site will aim to provide interesting information and analysis for understanding and sharing ideas of cultural interest.
A champion is someone who is smart, talented, and tough--a victorious warrior who takes on all challengers. We need more of these types of people in the field of English, unafraid to have fresh perspectives and voice them in interesting ways. A champion is also an outspoken advocate, one who promotes something that is valuable but often under-recognized. English needs more smart people to promote all that the field has to offer, to expand beyond its traditional limitations and create new and passionate participants.
