Weiyang Liu is a Beijing-born writer, director, and actor who began performing onscreen at age 18, starring in Chinese TV series and high-profile campaigns for brands like BMW, Nike, Pepsi, Huawei, Ford, P&G, Buick, Tencent Games, and MasterCard, etc. Transitioning behind the camera, he has written and directed two acclaimed shorts — CAN’T QUIT (戒不了) and LITTLE IMP （小屁孩） — and penned two feature screenplays. His debut feature screenplay, Welcome to America, won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Outstanding Screenplay Feature Contest (2,540 entries), receiving top scores for originality, character, and plot, and praise from Oscar winner - producer Wendy Finerman (FORREST GUMP, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA). The script tops Coverfly's Red List, and has advanced in competitions including Page Awards, Slamdance, WeScreenplay, and BlueCat. His short film Little Imp screened at Oscar- and BAFTA-qualifying festivals, earning multiple honors and nominations.
