Kate Slate
In the dead of winter of 2008 Kate/Slate created Slate_Land, a video channel full of her adventures in Baltimore City and other locations around Maryland. These humble roots were videos chronicling events, road trips and sometimes weird encounters. In late 2010, after experiencing a car accident, near eviction and a computer crash, Slate went into exile and videos became scarce. Choosing to focus more on her real job, Slate put away the camera for awhile and stopped making videos. This hiatus would last only into spring of 2012 when Slate became friends with photographer, Scott Davis, who suggested making a video in his studio. Slate has since been active in the Baltimore club scene and has recruited young models for experimental videos. Slate is loyal to the people she calls friends and always seeks to create art with creative people.
