Today I saw a comment on one of my albums that said: “AI slop”.
Let’s talk about what AI Slop actually is: It’s content made in 5-10 minutes, with no concept, no story, no soul. Thousands of generic things, empty lyrics, all mass-produced just to chase views. It’s digital trash that disappears in two days. Fast food of the internet: cheap, tasteless, and forgettable.
Now let’s compare that with the work I’ve been doing here for over a year?
I spend many hours every day immersed in this project. I have more than 20 years inside the “rock world”. I’m not a formally trained musician, but I’ve been playing bass for about 10 years. I have a very specific musical taste, you’ve probably noticed it through my albums. Besides producing the albums, I also do all the musical curation. Or do people think these albums create themselves? That everything the AI does is just one click? It’s a tool that executes my vision. I’m the one who decides every musical structure, every lyric (most of them written by me), the logic of the song order (believe it or not, this takes a lot of work), every artwork, and every band name.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I also decide what’s good or not. Because, as I said before, with more than 20 years of experience listening to rock, I know what’s good and what isn’t (at least I like to think so, haha). There are more things I could mention, but I guarantee that all of this takes A LOT OF WORK.
Therefore, what I do is very far from being slop.
A lot of people throw this label around without ever listening to a full album of mine, without feeling the power of a song from start to finish. They label it before even pressing play. Once again: This is not criticism, it’s laziness.
Not convinced? I challenge you: Pick any album, play it all the way through (preferably with headphones or good speakers) and then come back here and tell me honestly what you felt. If you understand music or have good musical taste, I doubt you’ll still think the same way.
Because great rock isn’t explained. It’s felt in the skin, in the soul.
I believe in what I’m creating here. And I know many people feel this energy too.
Thank you to everyone who understands the process, respects the work, and supports what I do. When I started, I was supported by very few people, not even enough to fill the fingers of one hand. But today I've almost 50,000 subscribers. If I already had plenty of fuel at the start, just imagine how much I have now? Thank you for everything!
Finally, I want to say: Rock never dies. And it’s not afraid of evolution either.
