What happens when you lose weight… but you end up looking worse?

That was me a few years ago:

• cratered my calories
• cardio like crazy
• soft and small

I used to think it was because I was losing muscle during the cut.

But now I realize what it really was.

Anxiety.

Fear of missing out.

Thinking I had to figure this whole fitness thing out in 3 months.

Instead of taking a deep breath and accepting that this whole body transformation thing takes time.

And honestly, I probably would've gotten where I am now even faster.

With a lot less headache along the way.

Still waters run deep.

Don't skip chest day

It seems like arms, shoulders, and abs get all the attention right now...

but let's not sleep on the mommy milkers...

the meat melons...

If you want chesticles:

- Take your time lowering the weight (your chest is not a trampoline for the barbell)
- Forget about half reps (those big dumbbells won't impress the front desk girl)
- Get your numbers up on a few basic exercises and beat your logbook over time

Not gonna lie - my chest didn't grow much until I started pushing my sets HARD AF and close to failure.

Best of luck getting to certified cleavage status.

How to get ahead of 97% of people trying to get in shape

It's not going to be easy, but it is simple.

Step 1 - Find what matters most

A while back, Jaye and I paid down a big chunk of debt.

While browsing Reddit for personal finance inspiration - we noticed the same basic advice being shared over and over again.

Emergency fund. Pay down CC debt. Make a budget.

The same thing happens in the fitness world. Stop trying to find a way around it.

Control your calorie intake. Lift weights. Stay active.

Step 2 - Shut up about it and start doing it

You tell yourself it's 'research'

Watching videos. Reading blogs. Calculating goals. Finding the right program.

Bullshit. Get out of your own way.

All true learning is on the job. Life is lived in the arena.

Pull the trigger. Start today.

You might think this sounds harsh, douchey, or oversimplified.

But anyone who's been there will tell you I'm right.

Step 3 - Repeat

My coffee grinder turns beans into ground coffee.

You need to grind your big goals into tiny actions you can repeat on a daily basis.

Or you can keep gathering more information until you feel ready.

But you already know how that ends.

I'm telling you - getting in shape will change your life.

30 days of focused effort now becomes so much more a year from now.

Someone with half your brain cells and a third of your free time is out there getting in shape.

Get going.

How to wake up with 7× more energy...

I remember waking up and tasting cigarettes in my mouth after a kitchen shift. I had zero energy. Unbelievable amounts of caffeine wouldn't even help.

Being out of shape sucked. But even worse was that I didn't want to go on dates any more.

Looking back on it now, I realize why I was feeling like shit.
It was all the unfinished things in my life

• The unread messages
• The unmade decisions
• The gym membership I kept saying I’d “use next week"

Every 'open loop' was like an app running in the background draining my mental battery.

Modern research confirms this.

Unfinished business = worse energy, focus, and peace of mind.

When I closed those loops by cleaning my space, showing up for myself, and fixing the things I’d been avoiding... something awesome happened:

I felt *more* energized, not less.

If you want to feel 7× more energized, here's your plan:

Write down 3-5 unfinished tasks you've been putting off.

Then close one today.

• clean the kitchen
• go for the walk
• send the message

You don’t need to fix your whole life today.

Just do what you said you would. That’s how you get your energy (and your confidence) back.
