Fabulously informative episodes about living young and dying old.

We find the world’s top scientists & experts on living younger, healthier lives.

There’s so much conflicting information about longevity—from supplement companies, social media stars, pop book authors, and food marketers who seek fame & fortune. This channel is unique because we find the top researchers in their fields, the ones too busy actually doing science to be social media stars, and help them tell their stories. Our mission is to make longevity research fascinating and fun without compromising accuracy.

Our channel is not commercial—no product promotions, no Patreon page, we turn off all optional ads.

About our founder:
Chris began his career as an earth scientist, involved in water and air testing for population health. He later worked for Steve Jobs at NeXT computers, which was purchased by Apple and became OS10 for computers and iOS for iPhones. Viva Longevity is Chris’ passion and retirement hobby.

Many people asked me to share videos from our TEDx longevity conference. This is an important one imo:

Name change for Plant Chompers? The persistent complaint I get is our name implies a vegan bias, creating doubt about the science we reference.

Organizing the TEDx Longevity Summit has left a mark on me because it's so clear longevity is multi factorial: exercise, genes, sleep, mindset, emotions + the various plant-dominant diets like Mediterranean, Asian and vegetarian the channel has always been about.

Some say we should rename the channel Live Young, Die Old because that's the real mission of the channel.

Or Long Live Science.

What say you?

‪@TheProofWithSimonHill‬ caught me completely by surprise with the provocative questions he asked, and as I heard myself saying things I never had in public, I kept wondering what was this interviewing sorcery that he possesses? Did he slip me a non-inhibition drug in the tea he offered me?

I get asked some questions all. The. Time! And the answers are often buried in an episode, so I awkwardly say "go here, fast forward there..." And they land without context from the previous minutes of the episode. Argh.

So I created a second channel, Plant Chomper Clips, where I pull those answers out — add context — and voila. The first one is about a GIANT misunderstanding that messes with a lot of people, shaking their faith in science. Let me know what you think.

I gave an important TEDx talk at MIT that I wanted SO badly to nail, but I felt I had an off day... Argh! 😢 So I couldn't bring myself to watch or promote it.

This morning I got over myself and decided the topic is so much more important than my perfectionism, so here 'tis. It's better than my imagination had made it out to be, no? 😅

The Bart Kay episode stirred up a very raucous debate. 😮 Some people said, "Please don't feed the troll! Move on to real scientists." Others said, "You're a coward for not debating him." I am debating him, along with other scientists, on Twitter, where he cannot talk over us. If that interests you, here you go: twitter.com/PlantChompers/status/16001948778740899…

Some people who watched the interview with Mark Schatzker, author of The Dorito Effect and The End of Craving, asked if we could do a YouTube Live where people could ask questions of Mark. Your wish is our command, so we scheduled it for Saturday, March 26, at 10 am Pacific Time. 😎 If you can't make it but have a question, post it here and I'll try to ask it. 👏

For a different channel I made this episode about eFuels and the future of transportation — flights, cargo ships, trucks, cars... It doesn't have to do with nutrition but I thought some of Plant Chompers' environment-interested peoples would like it:
