Statistics show that 2 out of 3 people who start trying to breathe better and easier to reduce respiratory symptoms or just have more energy, will slack off within the first month.

Most of us don't quit because the practice doesn't work. We quit because the program wasn't built for real life — for the hard monfh, the missed week, the day everything piles up at once, over and over again.

Wellness programs are designed around an assumption almost none of us meet: that we have the time, space, and nervous system capacity to build new habits on top of everything else we're already doing.

After thinking this over for some time, I’ve put together something new called Stop Starting Over — a 4-week experience for people who haven't been able to develop new, healthier habits that stick. And not because they lack discipline.

When your health, family, work, money and chore loads exceed your capacity, your nervous system doesn't ask permission — it just triggers a quit response. Not a decision. A physiological protection response, often interpreted by us as personal failure. Ideally, our overall load would generally take only about 70% of our capacity, so we would feel at ease more!

Stop Starting Over is different.

We train with an initial daily practice of 2 minutes. Building consistency is more important than intensity.

At the same time, there's no shame for a lapse. We track comebacks as wins, not only streaks. And when life happens — including a trip or change of routine for, say, Memorial Day weekend — coming back is the practice, even if it's only for a couple seconds. That's what builds the habit. Perfect streaks are rare. How did so many of us start buying into an all-or-nothing mindset?

I'm running a small pilot cohort this May for Stop Starting Over featuring:

-daily, super-quick yes-or-no personal check-ins by text, Email or WhatsApp

-5 live sessions on Zoom about keeping it real, including getting ready for and surviving the scientifically validated “Dip” period when the novelty has worn off but you haven’t seen improvement yet.
-6–8 people max.

May 6 – June 3 · Wednesdays · 5pm PT / 8pm ET
Pilot price: $147 (regular $297)

If you've started over more than once and wondered why the breathing practice keeps not sticking — this was built for you.

Breathing Retraining Center

Do you notice your breathing feels different during stressful times?

Periods of uncertainty — whether personal, social, or economic — often show up in the body before we consciously register them. One of the most common places this happens is breathing.

Under stress, breathing may become faster, higher in the chest, or feel unsatisfying. This doesn’t mean anything is “wrong.” It’s a normal nervous-system response to intensity and uncertainty.

The good news is that breathing patterns are also one of the most accessible ways to help the body settle.

In Tranquil Breath Tribe, we focus on simple, gentle skills that support calmer breathing and nervous-system regulation — especially during unsettled times. No forceful techniques. No performance. Just practical tools you can use in daily life.

If you’re curious about learning ways to support your breathing when stress runs high, you’re welcome to learn more.
