The announcement came following the approval of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, his fan club, during a recent meeting in Chennai. In a released statement, the actor conveyed, "Today, we are submitting an application to the Election Commission for the registration of our party, 'Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam.' Our objective is to participate and succeed in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections, aiming for the much-needed fundamental political shift desired by the people."
