Fuck me! I never thought we'd meet again! This is such a treat, I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I've gone just wanting to DIE!!!! because I haven't been able to commune with my favorite dream demon!
Nah but in all seriousness, this is super cool. I only got into the series around the halfway point but I have so many fond memories of Gravity Falls. It's the perfect cartoon, really. No bad episodes, nothing really bad at all. It's the perfect motivator at a time like this. Speaking of which, that JD macquette I was building is finally finished! Check this shit out-
Still gotta craft some clothing for him, the first comic is a period piece so I gotta at least try to be accurate. Might use tissue paper. Oh and I completely forgot why I built this thing- to help with the turnaround and all the different angles of his head. Erm.... better work on that.
Anyways if you're a gravity falls nut like me then check out the Book of Bill- they won't make more if you don't buy it!! LET DISNEY KNOW THE SHIT WE ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE FROM THEM!
I'm about halfway through, haven't even started on the puzzles and cryptograms and shit. Gonna be sick

Making a little JD macquette to aid me in my endeavors. His body isn't much to look at so here's his head, which I'm rather proud of. Not proud of his left ear breaking pretty much immediately- I think cloth ears might work a bit better going forward. Polymer clay is hard as hell and rolling it out all night has caused lasting pain in my metacarpals. But hey if it's good enough for James Gurney then I can suck it up. Just finished his other book, Imaginative Realism. Main thing I took away was not to get lazy in the planning stages. That's been my philosophy for a while now tbh but this brings it to another level, this guy goes through some grueling shit to do what he does. Might have to check out the Dinotopia books. I watched the show as a kid and thought it was the lamest shit ever but that's probably on account of it being like a 90's/2000's live action television series which, probably the worst possible time and medium to adapt something like Dinotopia? If there's a worse way out there I can't think of it. Tiktok shorts maybe. Idk
The point is I'm still working on shit. And it's pretty cool working with Clay again after all these years.

Pico Day 2024! Was a real fun time, got to meet a lot of cool people, even got to stand next to Tom Fulp for a solid minute and a half. I can smell NYC from across the Hudson and it's very foul. How much do people pay to live there?
Anyways super happy to meet so many cool people, and my flames of artistic passion have only grown more intense! Thanks to everyone who showed up it was so cool to meet you all!

Attached are some photos- Duke Nukem I drew, Pico pin I got, some dudes trying to fix the fucked up audio, and Sick Animation playing on the theater screen.

If Wally the Alligator is really gone then there is hell to pay. Fun fact, I met that alligator by pure chance. I just happened to be leaving my local flea market one day and I happened to notice a sign for Wally Gator, in person, right now. Obviously I'm not going to miss an opportunity to see a live alligator so I stop my car and walk in. I'm nervous as I meet the guy, not used to being in the presence of a celebrity, and ask to pet Wally, scratch his chin, get a photo, what have you. Wally did as alligators typically do, laid around and did nothing. Alligators are contemplative creatures which hide a deceptive intellect. Very charming. Here's my photos of him.
Pray for his safe return.

Recently read Hirohiko Araki's book, "Manga in Theory and Practice". Very interesting and informative, would recommend to anyone interested in creating comics or animation or any other sort of graphic media. Was interesting to see the conception of the Millionaire's Village from Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, even if it was as simple as "I wanted to see what a battle of etiquette would look like." Knowing the simple first step of such a process is the key to replicating it yourself.
Most of all the book made me wish I had an editor to talk to when I write and draw, that must be reassuring to have a copilot of sorts.
Very cool very swag I like it!

A while back I read a graphic novel about Snoopy becoming a prostitute in Seattle and then I found out the creator is the same person who said that Diversity in Comics Zack (who was a soldier in the middle east) should have been killed by an IED. This led to Kurt Eichenwald (guy who funded and had access to a highly illegal website) defending him, and then threatening to sue him after DiC Zack said he wasn't happy to have him on his side.
The comic was pretty wild I might read some more from the various contributors. Not something I'd pay money for but I have access to some illegal sites of my own 🚬😎
