I make a bit of music as a hobby, mostly enhanced versions of Pokemon game music, but I have others as well. If you want to know how I make them: I use a really old program called Cakewalk Pro 8 to layout the MIDI notes, and then use Sony Acid Pro 8.0 along with the Native Instruments, and the East-West VST Plugins to finish them up. Sometimes I use MIDI soundfonts, too.
Other programs that I use to setup soundfonts is Mudlord's BASSMIDI Driver, and for my Yamaha S-YXG50 driver, I use Mudlord's VST MIDI System Synth. If you'd like to use them, a simple google search should bring you straight to them. For editing or creating soundfonts, I use Awave Studio, which is commercial software (costs money), but it's much MUCH better than Viena.
