I am a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Certified Fitness Trainer, Specialist in Senior Fitness, and lecturer. I have worked with over 7000 students over the past eight years in senior centers and with private clients at their homes. Movement issues can be corrected. If you can move with less pain and better balance, you will move more.
When I am speaking to students I always ask, “How many of you would like to live to the age of 100?” I normally do not get many who raise their hands. I follow up with, “How many of you would like to live to the age of 100 if you could move better than you do now without any pain?” Every senior in the room now begins to change their perspective. This is the first step towards Reversing the Aging Processes.
Work with me and begin to move more, move better and have fun!

From time to time, I’m going to recommend a book that I think is worthwhile as far as increasing our health span. Today’s book is Built to Move by Kelly and Juliet Starret. I’m not going to go over their bonafides because they are two of the top movement experts in the world. Best thing about this book — it’s a very, very easy read. Not overly science-oriented and there are a bunch of cool ideas that are simple and ready to implement.
The authors give you 10 physical practices that you can take to your own level. You can easily see how your movement progresses over time. Really cool stuff. Remember, it’s mobility work, not exercise. They give you techniques to reduce stiffness in the body and reduce pain. There’s also a bunch of solid nutrition tips in this book as well as sleep strategies and how to perform basic maintenance on yourself.
Let me know what you think.

From 13 years ago and 3 left hip replacements to NOW, Martha is beginning to train like a long distance runner. Her goal by next June is to complete the one-mile walk at the Walpole Senior Center Olympics. We will be posting updates here on social media to show you her progress.
Go Martha! 🏃♀️
In just the last week (July 2026), she got an Apple watch to track her steps, heart rate and sleep and Steve will be tracking her numbers. Martha’s story continues to inspire...
“I know it sounds corny to say, yet — it was like the first time I did the backwards walking and I realized walking (without aids) was possible. It literally changed my life and every single aspect, because at first I didn't think walking would be possible.
Now if I say I can't do something, it’s actually ‘I can't do it now’ or ‘I can't do it yet.’”
—Martha. May 18, 2025
“To be able to go out like a normal person with a coffee and a cane, there would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth. It’s not just that I can do it, there’s a whole lot behind it.” —Martha
“What you’ve accomplished is phenomenal.” —Steve

ReverseTheAgingProcesses
My personal goal at the age of 100 is to be able to play on the floor with my great grandchildren. I want to be able to climb up and down stairs no problem. I want to be cognitively quite sharp and I want to be painfree.
.................................
What do *your* goals look like? I’m genuinely curious... comment below if you’re comfortable sharing.
.................................
To accomplish my goals I’m going to reverse engineer them. I know what I want to be able to do at age 100. That said, I know what I have to be able to do at age 90, what I have to be able to do at age 80, and what I have to do now at the age of 70.
As far as my company is concerned, the initial plan was to help people stop falling. In working on posture and balance, I got more into moving better as a whole. A lot of my students, maybe all of them, were in some sort of pain. So we worked on the mitigation and sometimes total elimination of pain for some people.
Then I started looking at my students as athletes and what is their sport? It is the activities of daily living. So I started putting together training modalities for that.
Then I began looking at the difference between health span and lifespan. Globally there’s a 9.4 year difference between health span and lifespan. Basically the last 10 years of our lives we are experiencing some sort of medical issue or pain. Life is now different or at least different as to how we remember it.
If there is one weak link, the entire system is affected.
So, currently I teach posture and balance, movement, pain relief, movement training for activities of daily living and lifestyle concerns, nutrition, hydration, sleep and stress reduction.
When we are young, we have a large circle of activities. As we get older, that circle gets smaller. But you can reverse it, and it’s never too late to start.
Getting older is inevitable. Aging doesn’t have to be.
