Love cooking, sharing recipes, and talking all things nutrition and health. I'm a French registered dietitian with a University Degree in Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases from the Faculty of Medicine in Paris. During the week, I work full-time in medical research, and on weekends, I practice as a part-time dietitian.
The Easy French Diet is based on the traditional French way of eating — the way my family and I eat every day, and the one I recommend to my clients (adjusted for age, height, weight, activity level). It’s all about eating real whole food, cooking easy meals, and maintaining a healthy weight while aging well.
This channel is a hobby. It’s a space for people who love to eat well and cook, and share this passion. I delete all rude comments towards me or community members here.

Fibermaxxing: why I’m not on board (from a dietitian)
The recent trend of “fibermaxxing”, pushing fiber intake as high as possible, as fast as possible, misses the science and ignores basic physiology. As a dietitian, I’m not a fan, and here’s why:
1. More is not always better
Beyond recommended intakes, higher fiber does not automatically mean better gut health, better glucose control, or better weight outcomes. Biology doesn’t reward excess, balance does.
2. The gut needs adaptation, not overload
Sudden high fiber intake increases bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and altered bowel habits. This isn’t “detox” or “healing", it’s poor tolerance due to fermentation overload.
3. Fiber can impair nutrient absorption
Very high intakes (especially from phytate rich sources) can reduce absorption of iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium. This is particularly relevant for women, elderly and people with higher micronutrient needs.
4. Not all guts respond the same
IBS, IBD, SIBO and functional GI disorders often worsen with aggressive fiber loading. Pretending one strategy fits everyone is not evidence-based nutrition. It’s trend-based nutrition.
5. Health isn't chasing extremes
Reducing nutrition to a single metric (fiber grams per day) ignores food quality, protein adequacy, bioavailability, and, most importantly, individual context.
Nutrition isn’t about maxxing one variable, it’s about supporting physiology.
