My love for the pipes goes back to the early 90's. It started with a record by Sean O Riada my father brought home from Ireland and played every St Patrick's Day for us. Hearing the Uilleann (Irish) pipes at such a young age stirred me to my core. I felt as though the Celtic warrior Finn MacCool had awakened within me. Indeed, to this day, the sense of pride for my ancestry is still evoked by the magical and haunting sound. Fast forward to the age of 12, I heard the Highland Bagpipes played in the movie "The Quiet Man" and, from that moment on, I was hooked. My parents thought it would be a phase, but there was no getting it out of my system. I've been bagpiping for most of my life now and loving every second of it.
