Auf „Westfalen im Film“ findet ihr spannende Inhalte zur Geschichte und Gegenwart Westfalens. Historisches Filmmaterial reicht zurück bis in die 20er Jahre und zeigt die Region und ihre Menschen im Wandel der Jahrzehnte. Eingeordnet von Expert:innen aus dem Filmarchiv erlaubt es einen Blick in das filmische Gedächtnis der Region.

Filmformate wie Webserien nähern sich der Geschichte Westfalens auf neuen Erzählwegen und kombinieren Elemente aus Dokumentar- und Spielfilm. In Edutainment-Formaten begeben wir uns mit jungen Moderator:innen auf Spurensuche in der Region, fördern spannende Funde und deren Geschichte zu Tage und betrachten Westfalen aus Perspektive der Wissenschaft - so wird die Weltgeschichte regional verortet.

Der Kanal repräsentiert die Medienproduktion und das Filmarchiv des LWL-Medienzentrums. Er leistet einen Beitrag dazu, das filmische Erbe Westfalens auf neuen Wegen zu sichern und die Geschichte und Gegenwart der Region in zeitgemäßen Filmformaten zu vermitteln.
