Welcome to the workshop here at Ellis Briggs, where we’ve been building, repairing, and restoring traditional lugged steel frames since 1936. I'm Paul Gibson, head framebuilder, writer of The Complete Framebuilder’s Guide, and the person behind the One Lug at a Time project.
This channel takes you behind the scenes of a one-man workshop in Shipley, West Yorkshire, using traditional tools and time-tested techniques. I share what I've learned from generations of builders, not just how to braze a lug, but what it means to preserve a disappearing craft.
Through videos, restorations, stories, and careful work, I’m documenting the trade, supporting the supply chain, and help train the next generation.
