Sustainability Institute
The Sustainability Institute is a non-profit trust, founded in 1999 and based in Stellenbosch. Through our unique campus and a range of learning offerings, we cultivate the capacity for collective imagination as a vital practice for unlocking just and regenerative futures. We work with all ages to envision and create a more positive future for themselves, for others and society overall, embracing complexity, nature and community - to explore and practice fairer and more balanced ways of being. Our primary participants are the children and youth within Lynedoch Valley, while the work we do with adults extends both nationally and internationally.
In 2024, we were recognised as the Most Transformative Learning & Social Innovation Organisation, South Africa by Corporate Vision Magazine. In 2025, we were awarded bronze in the Eco-Logic 2025 awards in the Eco-Community category.
