Exploring underground tunnels and infrastructure and watching the occasional rain fall and the following flooding in Los Angeles.
Many come to Los Angeles and have no basic information about the structure we know as the Los Angeles River. Though not much water is seen flowing through it on a daily basis, the river fills up when we have immense downpours during rain season. There are many tributary channels that also carry water from Far distances. Furthermore, Los Angeles has thousands of miles of underground storm drain tunnels they carry water up to eight miles to either the Los Angeles River or the Ballona Creek. Below LA is about the history flooding and the creation of the Flood Control District that began the intricate process in designing the Los Angeles storm drain system that we have today. Come along for the ride as I take you across the city below the ground. Now go eat a fat plate of rotten eggs.
