I was diagnosed in April of 2017 with AL Cardiac Amyloidosis and went through three types of chemo until April of 2019 (2-years). I have what's called chromosome 11:14 translocation with means the tops of my 11 & 14 chromosomes, switched tops, like people would switch hats. As a result, I'm in a holding pattern with the drug Venetoclax, also known as Venclexta, which is acting as a "maintenance" drug for me until we find a cure to remove the amyloids from my heart.
