Bill Champlin is best known for being a member of Chicago, which he joined in 1981 and remained a member of for 28 years. However, his career encompasses a whole lot more.

Bill's 1st band, The Opposite Six, formed in 1961, while still in high school. The Sons of Champlin formed in 1965 and recorded 7 commercially released albums between 1968 and 1977, gaining a devoted fan base. However, they never quite made it and disbanded in 1977.

Bill moved to L.A. to begin his solo career. He received 2 songwriting grammys and had released 8 solo albums, with numerous recording credits on albums by various artists covering a 30 year period.

In 1997, the Sons of Champlin reformed and are performing whenever schedules permit. They have also released 2 live albums and a DVD, as well as their first new studio album in almost 30 years, "Hip Li'l Dreams".

On August 4th, 2009, Bill's first solo CD / DVD in over 12 years was released in the U.S. on the DreamMakers Music label.
