Successful surgery last night, got myself some new hardware! It looks like I am getting discharged today. So many comments I have to get back to, but I have read through so many and appreciate all of the well wishes and kind words!

It's been an "interesting" couple of days and I am looking forward to some peace and quiet. But I do have probably one of the most unique tales to tell out of the experience. 😂 From a car throwing a deer carcass at me, to a Ketamine trip on an ambulance, to a woman shouting "call 911" and running away from nurses at 7 AM and now a woman screaming at her doctors for trying to treat her wounds...

If you guys are interested, maybe I'll make a story time video about it the next week or so 😁

Hey all, if you can believe it, I was hit by a deer that was hit by a car and landed myself a room at Château du Stéthoscope.

I have a broken clavicle, broken ribs, and a fractured C7. I'm slated for surgery tomorrow and recovery is a little uncertain, but I'm grateful that it is not worse!

I know many of you have already commented on yesterday's video, and I promise to get to reading and respondimg as soon as I can! You'll have to excuse my tardiness... I have a note!

Be safe out there, and always wear a helmet! Mine saved my brain!

Trail runners (or anyone in the know 😉) I found that I am a bit susceptible to Anterior Tibial Tendinitis. It happens on both sides simultaneously, and luckily, the onset is acute rather than chronic and resolves readily enough, but descending on rocky terrain, especially with a weighted pack, seems to be a real trigger.

I've already added some heel raises and band work to my routine to strengthen the tissue in the area, but if you have any recommendations that have worked for you, leave them in the comments! 🙂

Tapering is a very misunderstood and often botched part of an athlete's training. If you have a key event on the calendar this year, you may want to check this one out!

Question for those of you who are into hiking/backpacking. I'm looking to plan a 3-day 2 2-night solo trip to do a little peak bagging in June. I've narrowed down to 2 loops.

1. Adirondack Eastern High Peaks summiting Marcy, Gray, Skylight, Haystack, Sawteeth, Gothics, and Wolfjaws
2. White Mountains summiting Middle Carter,
South Carter Mount, ain - NH48 major Mt HightCarter Dome - NH48 major

Wildcat Mountain A,B,C,D & E, Gulf Peak (Slide Peak), Boot Spur, Mt Washington, Mt Jefferson, Adams Five, Mt Adams, and Mt Madison.

I've been to the Adirondack region before, but have only one day summited Marcy and Whiteface, and I have never been to the Whites. The Adirondack region is a little closer to my home, and I might be able to be a bit more flexible with dates to accommodate the 5-day forecast, but it is somewhere I have been.

The Whites present an opportunity to see somewhere new and beautiful, but the weather is much less predictable, and there is the ever-present threat of bad weather (especially on Mt. Washington) that I won't have visibility to as reliably. I can prepare an extra day or two of float, but I'd prefer to not extend too long.

If any of you have been to both regions, where would you go?

One of the most common questions I get is how someone can recognize a "good cycling plan" or how they should be constructing their own.

In this week's video, I cover how to structure your weeks and blocks during the build phase of your training.

BREAKING: Scientists stunned as random guy in YouTube comments debunks human biology with sheer conviction. Witnesses say he didn't just read the wrong thing - he believed it with his WHOLE chest. More at 11. 🤡
