Proyecto Puente nació como el primer medio sonorense en transmitir televisión por Internet, en vivo, en noviembre de 2010.
Desde la Ciudad de México, Luis Alberto Medina planeó hacer un periodismo diferente. Una opción innovadora a través de la radio, la televisión por Internet y las redes sociales.
Tras las primeras transmisiones por Internet, Proyecto Puente se consolidó como noticiero líder en redes sociales con la mayor interacción digital en Sonora, con el apoyo de colaboradores de nivel internacional, nacional y local.
El noticiero cuenta con un Consejo Editorial que propone y supervisa contenidos compuesto por especialistas en diferentes áreas y académicos de todas las universidades del Estado.
En 2014, por una cobertura inédita del derrame de tóxicos en el Río Sonora, calificada como la peor tragedia ecológica en México, el equipo de Proyecto Puente, bajo la dirección de Luis Alberto Medina, ganó el Premio Nacional de Periodismo 2014 en la categoría “Noticia”.
