Check out this great report by ‪@VICENews‬ about the battle over El Mirador, an ancient Mayan city located in the heart of Guatemala's Maya Biosphere Reserve. We've been working with the local forest communities for years, and the community forestry concession model has been hugely successful at preventing deforestation and building sustainable livelihoods. Now all that is threatened by plans for a huge resort.
