Alexander Campbell taught that the Bible was merely a “book of facts”, reducing it to a manual instead of the living Word of God. He pushed baptism as essential for salvation. He promoted a restorationist mindset, claiming to rebuild the “one true church” while rejecting creeds and traditions, which led to exclusivity, division, and distortions of the gospel. His almost scientific approach to Scripture denied the work of the Holy Spirit, creating a faith more about rules than glorifying God. His legacy is one of trauma, estranged families, and led many away from God.
