I think I should bring up some new developments that have come up recently in regards to what the next upload will be. I originally said I was going to upload a cover of Time to Dance based on DEMO 2, however something else happened. Something only people in the small Astro Boy fanbase care about. After 4 years of searching, I finally got a CD copy of 1988's Love Will Stop Calling by Dorian Harewood! It hasn't arrived yet as it's being shipped overseas from the Netherlands, so it will take awhile.
So, why is this a big deal and what does it have to do with Astro Boy? Well here are a few reasons...
1. Dorian Harewood voiced Dr. Tenma in the Astro Boy 2003 series and is widely considered the best Tenma both in adaptation and his performance. Basically, we really love Astro's Dad. Plus: Dorian Harewood (though a much older) did plenty of VA and live action roles in cartoons and movies. One of which voicing one of the Monstars in SPACE JAM.
2. Most online listings for this album are for Vinyl and Cassette copies. CD copies exist, but only two are known. One on Ebay which cost $130 something which has long been delisted, and the Netherlands copy, the one I'm getting.
3. This album was never made available for digital of any kind. Despite Youtube uploads being no problem, two of the songs were never uploaded for whatever reason, so I had to step in and fill that void.
So yeah, depending which comes first, the Time to Dance cover or when the CD arrives, that's what I'll be uploading. I will be uploading LWSC song by song rather than one whole video, because I don't know how to optimize video settings in VEGAS PLEASE HELP.
Next upload will be a Whitty and Updike cover on Time to Dance. I know it sounds weird, but my creative process for music doesn’t always have a plan. It originally started out as a redo of one of my vent tracks, but the opening melody was so similar to Time to Dance that it just became a cover of that song. I liked how it came out, so I did the rest on and off. Now it’s pretty much finished though needs some touch ups here and there.
Also, just to give some context. This cover is based on DEMO 2 of Time to Dance and NOT the final version! This is because my sister (who doesn’t care about music differences as much as I do) played the DEMO version when I first heard the song. It has been my preferred version ever since. So if you notice sections of the this cover that aren’t in the final song, that’s why. They were in DEMO 2. AND THEY WERE GOOD FIGHT ME-
Whoah, I just reached 1,000 sub! Okay okay, I know you tend to hear this a lot on Youtube if you’ve used it as long as I have. But honestly, it’s both strange and amazing! I’ve always had dreams of becoming a YouTube when I was younger, with a lot of old videos on hear that have since been deleted, but I didn’t always have the resources for screen recording or video editing. This place just became a place for me to upload whatever I wanted or thought was important. Like HQ music that’s unavailable or inaccessible. Though more so stuff that meant something to me. Now it’s become a mix of both my own content and whatever content I want to preserve. Even if I didn’t check to see if it’s already been preserved yet, OOF! Sure, I may not be like other Youtube channels or videos I’ve seen on this site for the past 16 years, and I can always change my style of content whenever I want anyway, but this is more than enough for me at the moment.
Now with all of that said, I still have a few songs that have yet to be uploaded here. Some of these have already been uploaded on NewGrounds and some haven’t seen a release yet, but here’s the list of songs that I know NEED to make an appearance here.
