Fruit Vendor is a singer/songwriter, rapper and multi-instrumentalist music producer.
He has performed alongside Die Antwoord, theatre icon David Kramer, Kahn Morbee of The Parlotones, Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse, Matthew Mole, Majozi, Jimmy Nevis and a list of other names too long to mention here. He has also created music for Pokémon (2024 Pokémon World Championships) and done custom compositions for massive tech brands like Philips and Zapier among others.
In 2018, he won the Barleycorn Music Club Songwriters’ Competition with an original song called “Bone to Bone” and followed that with another win in 2019 for the coming-of-age song "Rollercoaster", awarded by acclaimed film music production company Stonebear & Mayor, in their eMerge Music Competition. In 2022, he continued this winning streak by beating out 700 other contestants from around South Africa to win the FAME Week Africa "Sounds of Muziki" competition.
