"The hottest new thing this side of the Atlantic" – Cal Cashin, Zugzwang
A lockdown project formed at the end of 2020, Regressive Left wear their politics on their sleeve. With influences ranging from the cyclical rhythms of EBM to the freedom and expression of the London Jazz Scene, the band have been compared to everything from Post Punk heavyweights Talking Heads and Devo to modern art-rockers Squid and EBM outfit Scalping.
After winning plaudits from the likes of Steve Lamacq at 6 Music, Jamz Supernova on Selector Radio, Matt Wilkinson Beats 1 and Jaguar on Radio 1, and features in Clash, So Young, DIY, Dork and Fred Perry Subculture, Regressive Left are primed to make an explosive entry into the live scene in 2021.
“‘Eternal Returns’ may only be four minutes, but introduces Regressive Left as a band overflowing with ideas – both musical and political – that places them as an exciting and vital new act to follow.” Rob Hakimian, Beats Per Minute
