For Kenny and Winston, firewood isn't just a commodity; it's a craft that requires the right tools and a lot of sweat equity.
The backbone of the operation is the 1981 Case David Brown 4x4 tractor. With its reliable torque and classic British engineering, it provides the muscle needed to navigate uneven terrain. When a tree is down in a spot the tractor can't reach, the farmi winch comes into play, snaking cables through the underbrush to pull heavy logs with mechanical ease.
Kenny and Winston rely on a two-pronged attack:
The high-revving speed of a "Husky" or the raw torque of a Stihl, these saws make quick work of felling and bucking.
For the tightest spots where even the David Brown might struggle, the ATV provides a low-impact, nimble way to extract firewood.
We are located on the beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada
