Since 1970, the Cherokee County Development Board has been working to bring new jobs and investment to benefit the citizens of Cherokee County. The Development Board is a component of a governmental entity with the primary mission of recruiting new business and industry as well as fostering a pro-business environment and assisting those companies that already call Cherokee County home.
Day-to-day operations of the Cherokee County Development Board belong to Director Jim Cook. Cook serves as the County’s chief economic development recruiter and existing industry liaison. Since 2007, Cook and his staff have been instrumental in bringing in more than 138 million in new investment and creation of more than 870 jobs.
