Oxenfree developer Night School Studio was acquired by Netflix Games Studio in 2021 with the streamer's plans to enter game development.


The layoffs were announced in January this year after Netflix closed their only AAA game studio, Team Blue last October.


Last November Matt Verdu was appointed Netflix's VP of GenAI for Games to push for "innovation in game development."



Verdu stated, "I am focused on a creator-first vision for AI, one that puts creative talent at the center, with AI being a catalyst and an accelerant."

NINJA GAIDEN 4 was announced today in the Developer_Direct. It's being co-developed by PlatinumGames and Team NINJA.

Yuki Nakao (PlatinumGames) stated, "The game is currently about 70–80% complete, and we’ve entered the polishing phase."

Additionally, a remake of NINJA GAIDEN 2 is available NOW on Xbox Game Pass.

Ted Price, President and Founder of Insomniac Games, announced his retirement after 30 years. Price planned his departure last year and developed a succession plan with their senior leadership team.

Insomniac will now have three co-studio heads: Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed today with a release year of 2025

There will be exclusive Switch 2 games but will also be backwards compatible
