A three-member band from Ishigaki Island, Okinawa.
They debuted in 1990 with "Koishikute."
Their signature songs "Shimanjin no Takara" and "Namida sou sou" are sung by people of all ages, and their latest song "Umi no Koe" has recently garnered a great response. In recent years, they have expanded their horizons both at home and abroad, performing in Brazil and Hawaii, and have gained support from a wide range of age groups for their diverse musicality, from blues to shima uta (traditional Okinawan folk songs).
Their song "Marusya Shora" combines "Marusya," the rhythm that gave birth to samba, with "Shora," a word in the Yaeyama Islands that means "let's do it." This new, participatory style of music that has never been seen before in Japanese music and can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age or gender, continues to attract many fans.
