Hey guys. Just felt like I wanted to drop this in here. I was just reminded that this summer will mark 23 years since I put up my first blog post on my old site The Movie Blog... starting my onilne film punditry journey. 23 years. I still remember posting that first story, and man it doesn't feel like 23 years ago. Anyway, just felt the pull to jump on here and thank all of you. Some of you are newer, many of you have been around almost the whole time I've been on this journey. So thank you everyone. I appreciate you all more than I can reasonably express. See you on the show in a few hours.
Ann spoke at a big conference yesterday. This was a full page in the program. Read her credentials. Ok.... got it? To compare that against mine: "John Campea - Makes YouTube videos in his garage. Often without pants. Made burgers at Harvey's"
Hey guys. Just a reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5 PM PT we're be doing our next MOVIE CLUB. This is a special one where we're going to be discussing PROJECT HAIL MARY... the book. We'll talk about the story and what we're expecting out of the movie. Hope do see you there!
I just realized that my grocery cart makes it look like I'm a college student living in dorm. A lonely one at that. ***EDIT*** I was going to explain that this is for our weekly Dungeons & Dragons game tonight at the house, but then I realized that doesn't make me look any less like a lonely college dorm student.
So extremely proud of my wife, Dr. Ann Campea for starting her NEW JOB today! She accepted a position at Anduril Industries, one of the country's leading defense technology companies. And yes, Anduril is also "Flame of the West", the legendary sword wielded by Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings, reforged from the shards of Narsil by Elven-smiths in Rivendell. This is huge move for her because for nearly 7 years now, while working for Hasbro, Amazon and Apple, she's mostly gotten to work from home. Today she drove to her office. Got the house to myself again!!! 🙂 But seriously, so proud that I'm married to literally the perfect woman. So proud of you baby!
Just a big thank you to everyone for 2025. This year we're going to have over 50 million views! For this small, nobody channel, we couldn't be happier. Also, this year saw us grow in views, view hours and subscribers all higher than last year. Again, thank you to everyone who has supported us. We're insanely grateful and we can't wait for 2026
Huge thank you to everyone who came out to our little Movie Meet-Up last night in Burbank. Such a fun time being back in my old stomping grounds where AMC Movie News got started.
The best thing movies remind me of all the time is that all of us have the power to make someone else feel valuable and that they have worth. We can all make someone feel that way. So this weekend, give someone a kind work, say “good job”, hold the door for someone, give a compliment, take someone out for lunch, make a phone call… it doesn’t take much.
