Welcome to the official Doors channel - home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger – a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

"In the rock canon, there aren’t many bands like The Doors. Simultaneously underground and mainstream at the same time, they’ve certainly left their mark in the rock genre and numerous sub-genres, like punk and gothic rock.” -BURR MAGAZINE

In an interview with THE GUARDIAN, John Lydon shared what’s on his honest playlist.
Among the tracks? “The Spy” and “Waiting for the Sun” - songs he says he inexplicably knows every word to.
“Both The Spy and Waiting for the Sun by the Doors rattle around my brain. They seem that perfect blend of different to the usual rock’n’roll and possibilities. A stunning band by all means.” – John Lydon

The Doors
May 8, 1970 – The Doors hit the stage at Detroit’s Cobo Arena during their East Coast tour.
Their set leaned heavy on the blues, with eight Blues tracks in the mix, including their hard-hitting take on Willie Dixon’s “Back Door Man.” As the night wrapped, John Sebastian of the Lovin’ Spoonful joined the band for a surprise sit-in on guitar and harmonica.
