Klein was one of the first photographers to work with The Doors, shooting them throughout 1966 and 1967 as they rose to fame. He photographed the band at the Venice Canals, in front of their famous Sunset Strip billboard in Los Angeles, and by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Klein’s early images helped define The Doors’ public image just as their debut album was being released. He later went on to become a licensed psychologist and spiritual counselor, working in that field for decades.
