I'm Stephanie — rare lung disease survivor, myofascial yoga teacher, and Oxygen Advantage® Breathing Instructor. At 18 I lost three segments of my left lung to surgery, dropping to 40% lung volume. Years of myofascial yoga and breathwork later, I'm at 69% — this channel is where I teach how.
I teach myofascial yoga and functional breathwork: movement that works with your fascia instead of just stretching it, paired with breathing that regulates your nervous system and helps to work on your breathing patterns. Yoga Alliance certified, Oxygen Advantage certified, a forever student.
For anyone recovering from surgery, living with chronic pain, or breathing through their mouth without knowing it — you're in the right place.

Not medical advice — I'm a yoga teacher and breathwork coach sharing what's worked in my own recovery. New videos weekly.

I had three segments of my left lung removed at 18. So the fact that I just started a breathing teacher training with Oxygen Advantage still feels a little surreal — the girl who couldn't take a full breath, now studying the science of it.
I want to bring you with me. Every week of this training, I'll share what I'm learning here — in plain language, for anyone who's curious about their own breath.
Here's what week 1 gave me:
→ CO₂ isn't waste. It's the signal that helps oxygen actually reach your cells.
→ Mouth-exhaling costs you 42% more water than nasal breathing.
→ Around 50% of people with back pain have dysfunctional breathing — and it runs both ways.
→ Breathing more air than you need isn't healthy. It's chronic hyperventilation, and it lowers CO₂ in your blood.
→ Up to 75% of people with anxiety have a disordered breathing pattern.
→ "Diaphragmatic breathing" isn't pushing your belly out — it's a lateral, 360° expansion of the ribs.
That last one is what I've built my teaching around for years. This week just handed me the science behind what my own body taught me the hard way.
Tell me — which of these surprised you most?

For almost two years, doctors told me my pain wasn’t real.
My lung volume had dropped to 40%. I could barely walk and talk at the same time. The scans showed it. They looked away.
I was 18 when they finally operated — removing three segments of my left lung, sealing everything shut. What came after changed everything.
I found yoga. Not the Instagram kind. The kind with roots — built on thousands of years of understanding how the body holds tension, stores breath, and heals itself. And then I found the science to explain why it worked: the fascial lines, the connective tissue system, the spiral chain that runs from hip to opposite shoulder. Thomas Myers mapped it in Anatomy Trains. Yogis had mapped it thousands of years before — they just called it something different.
That intersection — ancient yogic wisdom and modern fascia science — is what I teach. And it reaches a layer that most yoga, most stretching, most movement practices never touch.
This carousel is my story. Swipe through if you’ve ever been dismissed. If your body feels like a mystery. If you stretch every day and still feel stuck.
And if any of it resonates — comment RESET below. I’ll send you 7 days free in Embodied Breath — my full myofascial yoga library, built from everything I learned surviving this. 🤍
