We volunteer to take care of dogs and cats in our home.
Japanese government agencies are not shelters that protect pets.
If there is no owner after a certain period of time (around 1 week to 10 days), the animal will be killed.
In most cases, if the owner brings the animal in directly, it will be killed the same day it is picked up.
Japan is a developed country, but it is not an animal-friendly country.
The current situation is that shelter groups and individual volunteers take in dogs and cats from shelters and take care of them.
I am a volunteer who helps to connect the lives of cats and dogs to their foster families.
I hope that as many unfortunate animals as possible will be reduced.
