Maffio is an award-winning Dominican singer, songwriter, and producer, currently promoting his new album R.D.L.D., a bold and innovative project that encapsulates the richness of Latin identity through a unique blend of rhythms and musical styles.
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1986 as Carlos Ariel Peralta Mendoza, Maffio began his musical journey at the age of six, teaching himself to play the piano. By nine he was composing songs, and by twelve, producing music. At only twenty years old, he achieved his first international success with “My Soul Dies.”
His stage name, “Maffio,” was given to him by his father, inspired by his childhood fascination with mafia documentaries. Over the years, he has drawn inspiration from legendary artists such as Bob Marley, Donna Summer, the Bee Gees, Camilo Sesto, Michael Jackson, and Chuck Mangione.
