Hola Familia!


I have made it through a full week of school after having an unintentional ice holiday. I don’t know what happened, but I had a lot of energy this week so a new project is coming! If you don’t mind, I’m going to plug it one more time in this post!


2026 Grammy Reactions:


My editor Neenx, a recent film school grad who loves music (also “YAY” to their graduation!), was talking to me about the Grammys and I didn’t have much to say about it since I’ve never watched an awards show in my life! I never really cared about them much, but since I don’t listen to much mainstream music, I thought it would be fun to dive into artists and genres that I haven’t listened to very much on this channel. I understand that this isn’t everyone’s “cuppatea,” but I appreciate any support with this project!


BAND-MAID Sunday:


I absolutely love last week’s reaction. “SION” was such a beautiful song and after being informed about why the song was made just made the song that much more special. This week we are continuing our perusal of the SCOOOOOP EP with the next track called “Dilly-Dally.” This phrase lives rent free in my head because as someone who grew up in West Texas, I heard it all the time from teachers and parents! The first time I heard the Maids use this phrase in “Moratorium” really threw my for a loop! I can’t wait to hear what they have with this song that owns the title!

Synsnake - “Parasite”

This Sunday we are checking out some Korean Metalcore! Synsnake was formed in 2015 by their bassist and guitarist who were students in high school at the time. They attracted attention to metal listeners because they had a female vocalist, which was rare! Let’s discover them together!


Lawrence - “Don’t Lose Sight” Original & Acoustic versions

If you don’t know, Lawrence is a sibling duo. Clyde plays keys and Gracie sings. This group holds an interesting corner in my mind because I think their music is great and their sound makes me want to groove! There’s another reason why, but I will talk about it on Patreon!



BAND-MAID - “Dilly-Dally” live at TGT, 2025

The first time I heard the Maids say “Dilly-Dally,” I had to stop and look up if that phrase was common in other places than West Texas. It also makes me want to make a BAND-MAID cowboy hat for the show in October. Anyway...I am excited to check out the live version on Patreon!

I was so full of energy this week and I don’t know where that energy is coming from! This Grammy project is not huge, but doing 2 weeks of reactions on top of the regular schedule is crazy...right? Maybe a little, but I am excited to share this with you!

Surprise!

I wanted to try a bigger project this month (to see how I feel about doing these every now and then) and I figured this would be a good way to celebrate hitting 50K and the Grammy's at the same time.

I don't listen to the radio and the most I hear of mainstream music is from snippets in social media.

I thought this would be fun to go down an adventure to select artists from each category and listen, react and analyze their music!

So it iced over here. I ended up having not only Monday and Tuesday off, but I had Wednesday and Thursday off as well! We went to school on Friday which seemed ridiculous, but oh well! Here are the reactions this week!

BAND-MAID Sunday:

- “SION” is up next on the album and from the comments I have read so far, “Daydreaming” may have to run for it’s money! I love BAND-MAID’s hardcore rock tracks, but I have found my soul really drawn to their ballad-y style tracks. I cannot wait to hear this one!

Extreme - “Cupid’s Dead”

- I am not new to the Band Extreme, but I am still learning of their music. I have done reactions in the past focusing on Nuno’s amazing guitar playing, but this time we are going to dive a little deeper into the mix that, apparently to listeners, should’ve been the original release in the first place. I can’t wait to dive in!

Elephant Gym - “Finger”

- From Kaohsiung, Taiwan, siblings KT Chang and Tell Chang along with drummer Chia-Chin Tu created a math rock and jazz fusion band. Telling me that math rock and jazz have combined here to make a musical baby is like dangling a carrot in front of a horse!

BAND-MAID - “Sion” live at TGT, 2025

- I have been enjoying that live concert from December. I have only seen bits and pieces from when I need to find the time-stamps for the songs I am reacting to (thanks again, Eaglez1!), but man...the ladies are ON FIRE on that stage. I cannot get enough of the stage presence!

- All Maomao was doing was making sure Lihaku was good enough for her “sister,” Pairin. I see no harm!

K-ON! - S.2, Ep.15

- A 5k race! But where is Yui?

I am glad that school was canceled for basically the whole week. I had time to record, play video games (I beat Red Dead Redemption!) and reorganize my home. I still had my Christmas tree up! It was time to take it down! Anyway, I am glad the ice has melted so I could leave my house for some groceries!

- I love the name of this next song. Honestly, it makes me think about one of my favorite Mario games, Super Mario Sunshine. That’s right...we’re checking out “SUPER SUNSHINE.” This starts the journey into a majority of the songs I haven’t heard on this EP. I cannot wait!

Lake Street Dive - Better Not Tell You

- It’s been a bit since I’ve tuned into some Lake Street Dive. From what I understand, they have a new guitarist and keys player. I’m interested in how they groove together. The other surprise is the trio from Huntertones is playing on this track! I was so blown away by their trumpet player so I cannot wait to hear what they have in store with this!

KOKIA - For Little Tail

- This reaction is unlocking some old memories for me. I’ll keep it short here, but I remember getting a Playstation Underground demo disk in the Playstation Magazine that my brother had a subscription to. Tail Concerto was one of the Japanese games you could play on the disk and I all I remember is this being the first time seeing japanese kanji and being intruguied that areas around the world had different games. I cannot wait to hear music from the game!

BAND-MAID & PRIME - SUPER SUNSHINE (Live from TGT, 2025) & behind the scenes of the 2025 final concert

- I know the Maids can only record so many instrumentals and as much as that bums me out, I cannot hold anything against a band that knows that true grind of what it takes to make amazing music and be a successful band. We continue our journey listening to the new EP with the live version of “SUPER SUNSHINE” and just for fun I wanted to check out the behind the scenes of the final concert that we are checking out in these videos. I cannot wait for both!

Sound! Euphonium - FINISHED

- I cried...mainly because the story is over and our journey is done but also because the story was absolutely beautiful. This anime does such a good job showing what the band kid experience really is like. To those who have ever wanted to know what the high school band experience was like from a former band kid and now music educator, please watch this series along with me on Patreon! This is a great representation of what the band experience is like!

The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 20

- Maomao is on the mend in this episode, but nothing will keep her from figuring out the truth of who was behind Jinshi’s assassination attempt. A “resurrection drug.” A missing corpse. Where did our culprit go?

K-On! - Season 2, Ep. 13

- With the upperclassmen either busy studying for their exams or out of the country, Azusa is bored at home. Her decision to hang out with her other friends, Ui and Jun makes for a cute adventure while Azusa checks in on her Senpais...this is just an adorable episode!

I have all my fingers, toes, limbs...EVERYTHING crossed for at least one snow day. We were told that it’s possible we won’t have school on Monday or Tuesday. Send me all the good vibes for 2 days! Living 30 minutes away from where I work makes me scared to drive to work in any icy cold conditions. I hope you are all staying safe and warm! Don’t go out unless you have to!

Late again this weekend! I know. I have no reason this time other than I chose to go to bed early yesterday, which is rare for me. I don’t have school on Monday, so yay! I am excited to get a lot done with recording and editing, but enough about the boring stuff I do. Let’s get to the music!


BAND-MAID Sunday:

I would say that I rarely go back and relisten to BAND-MAID songs for reactions, but that’s so not true. I want to revisit it because I have been listening to the music of the previous albums more often lately at the gym and I really want to revisit “What is Justice?” For a little change up, I would like to watch the anime music video version. I thought it would be fun to see the the crossover of the meaning behind the song with the artistry of the anime. BAND-MAID does such a good job of capturing the essence of a show through lyrics, so I want to see what they went off of to create this epic song!

Aoi Yuki - Logicana Distance

When I read that the vocalist in this song is the voice actor of MaoMao in the anime “The Apothecary Diaries,” I knew I had to check this song out. I just finished a new episode of this anime and I couldn’t help but compliment the show on how the Aoi Yuki’’s voice really embodies the personality of Maomao. Because of her sort of low timbre of her voice, I couldn’t imagine her singing, so I imagine this is going to be a big surprise for me!


Faetooth - Hole

Reading some of the description of this band’s newest album made me interested in this reaction. The words “rooted in self-discovery through disorientation, the idea that understanding comes not from escape, but from getting lost,” stuck out to me. I don’t know what genre or style of music I am getting into with Faetooth, but I am excited to figure it out. I am excited to get lost within their music, as the description says!


BAND-MAID - What is Justice? (Instrumental & Live from TGT, 2025)

Last week I was surprised by the instrumental of “Ready to Rock,” getting to see the whole performance and then getting to see the individual angles was a treat! We are doing that again and OF COURSE we are going to see the live performance of “What is Justice?” from their recent concert! AH!

I know this that is the final episode. I know the competition is in this episode. I won’t lie to you...I haven’t watched this episode yet. I try to watch all my anime reactions in order in which they come out, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to be fully emotionally prepared to watch this episode. I know it’s the last episode...I am not ready.


The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 19

I was clutching my pearls in this episode! Poor Maomao! But she saved the day and I couldn’t help but feel flutters when Jinshi carries her off!


K-On! - Season 2, Ep. 12

I loved this episode! When I was their age I wanted to badly to go to a music festival, outside or inside, it didn’t matter. I wanted so bad to go see concert after concert of bands that I loved and didn’t know I would love. Seeing fictional characters live out your childhood dream is somewhat healing for me. I also love that they had that conversation that they are good enough to be on that stage. I think they could make it someday!


This week was more rough because it was a full week of school. I honestly really dislike when we start the week off on a Tuesday. It feels like the week shouldn’t exist if there isn’t a Monday. I believe 3 day weekends should start on Friday and then we should always have Monday. I have some fun plans coming up in the next few months. I am going to see Akira Yamaoka at the House of Blues in Dallas in March and my brother and I will be seeing Lacuna Coil in April. You know what that means! More NittBro reactions!

We survived the first full week of January! Yaaaay! I started the week off strong and then Thursday rolled around and I crashed. I'll tell you after I cover what we are looking at this weekend!


BAND-MAID Sunday:

Since I have already covered the Ready to Rock MV we are going to watch the official Live video! Guys...look...I was DYING staying away from reacting to this live video. It came out and the amount of FOMO I had seeing everyone talking about it made me feel like how my dog looks at me when I am eating whipped cream….and he LOVED whipped cream! I cannot wait to see this for the first time!!!

Boston - Foreplay/Long Time

I know this band! I rarely react to bands that I know, but funnily enough my knowledge of this song and the band Boston in general is lacking. As I have said before, I would like to do more research on bands and artists so I cannot wait to dive deeper on who Boston is while checking out a new song for my ears!


Sohyang, YDG & Zairo - Gangsta's Paradise

I see “Sohyang” I click. Period. I won’t lie though...I didn’t expect to see a cover of “Gangsta’s Paradise” being a song that she covers. I cannot forget to mention the others performing with her. I don’t know who they are yet, but I am excited to see who YDG and Zairo are as well. I absolutely loved Coolio’s version...as well as Weird Al’s cover, so let’s see what art is made here!


BAND-MAID - Ready to Rock (Instrumental)

I hope you guys didn’t mind my late unboxing of the SCOOOOOP album on last week’s video. I know I am really late to the party, but I was really excited to share that moment with you. Anyway, there’s an instrumental DVD in this box set. We are going to check out the instrumental of “Ready to Rock” because I really loved the opportunity to see those white room instrumentals so hopefully this is what that is as well!

Sound! Euphonium - Season 3, Ep. 12


I thought I was going to be able to make through this season without tears. I was VERY wrong. This episode broke me in more ways than one. This show does such a great job in showing the character growth of Kumiko from her unsure beginnings to her final year at school in band. This episode does such a great job of showing what it’s like to be a good musician. We want to win our auditions, but sometimes it’s just about the enjoyment of playing with others...but the ego wants the best experience possible so we try our best even if the competition is our friend. Ugh...this is such a good episode!


The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 18

This episode was a ride. I thought that for a moment that Maomao didn’t know who her biological parents were, but it seems like she’s been withholding information from us viewers the entire time! I should’ve known that she would do such a thing since she’s so good at acting like she knows nothing when necessary. The story is heating up!


K-On! - Season 2, Ep. 11

I get this episode. I’ve been in this situation. I NEED MY AIR CONDITIONER. I actually will choose where to sit in a room based on the location of the air flow. I would rather be cold and wear layers than be hot and sweaty because I am a sweaty lady...and I am not ashamed of it!


When I got home on Thursday, I put my flute bag down got into my PJ’s and flopped into bed with snuggles from Boston. I was out the entire evening. I eventually woke up, got myself some crackers for dinner (mainly because you can eat crackers in bed) and resumed bed rotting. My energy gave out sooner than I thought. I hope your first full week of January was great if you set some resolutions that you are sticking to them. If not, who cares?! You tried, so good for you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I only have a few days left of break and I am already ready to complain, but I WON'T! I am going to try going into the new year with a positive attitude and leave my heart open to new feelings and my mind open to new ideas. I'm excited to be back after a tiny break. I MISSED YOU ALL! - The votes are in...we start the new year off with BAND-MAID's new EP titled, SCOOOOOP! I have not heard the first song of the album yet so we begin with "Present Perfect." I am excited because I've seen the thumbnail of the music video that was released a while back and I have been waiting patiently ever since...! Let's gooo!

I found this band's name interesting only because I thought "braying" was the sound a horse made but now that I think of it...it's "neighing." Anyway, from what I understand this band has a calm but upbeat sound and I cannot wait to dive in to hear what this band has to offer my ears!


- King's X - "It's Love"
I did more research on this band again before this reaction. I felt like the first reaction I did to King's X was centered around their label that was thrusted upon them as being a Christian band, but after doing more research...I think I found more cool info that makes their music even that much better!


- BAND-MAID - Zaiko, 2025 Tokyo Garden Theater online Okyu-ji
I was given access (thank you, Eaglez1!) to the most recent online concert...so we are going to listen to the live version of "Present Perfect!" I am so excited since I didn't get a chance to see it due to the timing of the concert. I cannot wait to share this moment with you all!

- Sound! Euphonium - Season 3, Ep. 11
Kumiko is starting to see through to what Mayu is doing, and honestly I don't blame either one of them for acting the way they are. Mayu is playing mind games with Kumiko whether it's intentional or not, and Kumiko is lifting her up without meaning to. It's time for Kumiko to try and take back the soli. She is also finally decided that she does not want to go to music school which makes Reina think their friendship is over.


- The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 17
Jinshi goes on a quest disguised as a commoner to a location that has courtesans. Maomao accompanies him dressed as a higher ranking member of society. We learn what lessens the quality or price of a courtesan and it turns out that losing one's chastity is bad and even worse...a pregnancy.


- K-On! - Season 2, Ep. 10
This episode is my favorite one out of both seasons. I am Sawa-chan. I am that teacher. I try not to share what I was and what I did or what I looked like growing up, but sometimes it's nice to have a conversation with my students about the kid I was because I want them to know that I was cool and that it's okay to be a little different growing up. I like to show them what I was like as a kid and then show them that I am still that kid, but in an adult's mind and body.


I hope that your year has had a good start. I am not one for toxic positivity, so I believe that you are allowed to have bad and good vibes. It's what you do with those vibes that make a difference. I have been cozy gaming a lot lately. I got some of my favorite things for Christmas like single player board games, skincare, music...It's been lovely. I hope the holidays were good to you as well!

Hola Familia!

I know that it’s a Tuesday, and I normally don’t post messages except on the weekends, but I wanted to tell you and ask you something…

This is so weird for me, but I am going to take a small break from Patreon and BAND-MAID Sunday this upcoming weekend.

I am traveling tomorrow to see family and will be with them until Saturday, and I want to do my best to be present the entire time. Since I don’t know how to take a break and not do something, this is probably a healthy move for me…😅

Regular YouTube videos will still be posted since those are pre-recorded, and my editor is a beast (thanks, ⁨@lolneenx⁩)!

Here’s where I need your help!

I was so unsure of where to go with this weekend’s BAND-MAID Sunday reaction that I thought it would be a better idea to ask the viewers what direction they want it to go!

I know the next album in the series is CONQUEROR, but the BAND-MAIKO EP came before that… and I have my copy of SCOOOOOP sitting in my office, staring at me unopened.

4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

I am SO sorry. This is more late then it needed to be. I’ve been taking advantage of the last few days staying up late and playing some videos games that I have been wanting to play for a little bit...which means I procrastinated last night making this post for today. I know my gamers out there understand, but there’s no excuse for turning in a late assignment! I am excited to get into these reactions this week!

BAND-MAID Sunday:

- I’m coming down from a high that was the World Domination album. I have the same feeling I have when I finish a recital; happy to have the experience, but sad that it’s now over. Sort of...😉This weekend I am excited to FINALLY get to the Ohrenje MISA documentary. Ever since I was told it was up, it’s been screaming at me in the back of my mind! It’s time to learn about bassist, and my role model...MISA.

Mizuni Ukikusa - “Town”

- I am excited to check out this band again. They have a sound that is familiar, but so unique in it’s own way. Every time I have listened and reacted to them, their sound guides me in a new direction that I didn’t think this band would take me. If you haven’t heard them yet, I would check them out!

Muses - Twilight of Rio

- The last time I reacted to Muses, I was musically being taken to space and winning my first imaginary speedway race! I really love this group because their instrumentals really build a vision of what they are trying to get across with their music. To me it feels like a story unfolds with their sound and I love it! Apparently this one has a Latin flair to it, so let’s go!

BAND-MAID Interview! - Herman Li of Drangonforce talks with Miku & Kanami

- We are taking a small break from music this week and returning with some interviews! I was sent this one a while back in the discord and I told myself that I would get back to it when I finished reacting to the World Domination album. I am excited to hear what the ladies have to say to Herman Li. Also...DRAGONFORCE?!

Sound! Euphonium - Season 3, Ep. 8

- The three day break is over and now they are at summer camp. This episode has so much tension that after I finished reacting to it, the stress knot in my shoulder from playing flute started hurting. I won’t spoil anything if you’ve never seen this series before, but this episode is so accurate to what happens in band.

The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 14

- Slowly but surely the drama unfolds...a new consort has arrived, an mysterious explosion with evidence left behind, as well as a new character that I STILL haven’t heard enough from. What’s happening? What’s going to happen?! I NEED MORE NOW!

K-On! - Season 2, Ep. 8

- I really think it’s funny that there is a little bit of a thematic crossover with K-ON! and Sound! Euphonium when it comes to career choices for our main characters. Both Yui and Ritsu aren’t sure what they would like to do as a career and aren’t sure what they would be good at. Yui turns in multiple versions of her career idea plans, but Sawako rejects them. She even rejects Yui’s “do the best I can” plan.

On a non-music note, I am replaying some games that some of you might be interested in. I 100% the Silent Hill 2 remake. This series is my favorite and I felt it was only right to do so. I cannot wait for the remake of the first Silent Hill to come out! I am now onto the Resident Evil 2 remake and working on my speedruns. I want to attempt to unlock all the records in that game. It’s a lot, but I like a challenge. I would love to hear what you’re playing if you are a gamer!
