I really like the name of this band and I wonder where they came up with the name, but let’s talk about what we are going to hear! I was told this is a pop-rock band that incorporates other genres into their music like funk, jazz and some rap elements. My introduction is apparently going to be more roock based, so I am excited to check it out!
🔹BAND-MAID - “Liberal” from BM PRIME Online Okyuji
I haven’t checked out an on line okyuji in a while and I cannot wait to watch them do “Liberal” live after the studio version. It’s always nice to go back in time to see how the maids were doing in 2020. I’ve seen a lot of recent performances, so let’s go back 6 years and check out where they were!

🔹Little Lilith - “Lady Bug”
I have seen mention of this band before in the past, but never had a chance to listen to them. Of course, you guys know that I try to keep myself from spoiling anything so I can discover new music you all show me! From what I was told they are Djent band formed in 2018 and recently came out with a new album. I am excited about this for two things. I see they have a violin and I really love lady bugs!
🔹PROJECT “AiNA,” a journey into the musical artist! - “On The Way” from DANDADAN & “ZOZKINGDOG”
I saw that there was A LOT of AiNA the End suggested in the discord, so I thought it would be sort of cool to do a deep dive into an artist this week. I really enjoyed her performance with HOTEI and her Tiny Desk concert, so why not learn more about this musical artist who’s voice cannot escape me in recent animes that I am watching!

I haven’t done many reactions to this concert so I figured this would be a good opportunity to do so since we are exploring the “Conqueror” album in full now. I have to attend an appointment this morning to help a student find their new intermediate flute. I love these sessions because I can see my student’s eyes go wide as they hear themselves sound even better on an instrument made with the proper material for better resonance. This is a big step in their lives. These are instruments that are worth $2000 to $3000! I remember freaking out when my parent’s trusted me with my first big kid flute. I couldn’t believe they trusted me to take it to school at the age of 14. Anyway, it’s an exciting day!

I was debating on what to do this week since I have done a 3-way reaction on my Patreon already. We are supposed to dive into the “Conqueror” album today with “Page.” I thought about skipping it, but it’s been a hot minute since I listened to this song so I want to do it again, but with a different approach. 🔹Perfume - “Flow”
This is a electropop trio who have been performing for more than 20 years which is amazing! Perfume has 3 singers, Ayano Ōmoto (Nocchi), Yuka Kashino (Kashiyuka), Ayaka Nishiwaki (A~chan), their DJ, Nakata Yasutaka and their choreographer Mikiko. I am excited to check them out because I love choreography (I love to dance) and I love me a good pop ensmeble!
🔹EJAE - “In Another World”
I still haven’t see KPOP Demon Hunters. It’s honestly my biggest crime to date because I loved “Golden” and the snippets of other songs in the movie. I loved EJAE’s (Kim Eun-jae) voice immediately when I did my first reaction to Huntrix. Why not check out more from her?

After my brother left, I hit a emotional low. I am sure I am not the only one who gets that way. My brother is such a character and can make me laugh that when he leaves, the house feels so quiet. I am feeling better now and after a full week of work, I am back to my regular ol’self again. Last night I judged a small solo contest for beginner through 8th grade flutes and I was really proud of these little kids work. It’s always nice to hear the humble beginnings of a band kid’s journey! Anyway, I hope you are well, and can smell the summer coming in the air!

Hola familia!
I am sending this out Friday evening to let you all know that I am taking this one week end off to hang out and spend time with him while he his here.
As you can see, we went to see one of his favorite bands (and his longest musical crush, Cristina Scabbia) Lacuna Coil. I only know 1 song from them, so this was a fun night of musical discovery for me and pure joy and excitement for him.
As you can see, he got his picture taken with the band and I think he's happy from what I can see in that picture!
I also did his nails the night before the concert: one hand that was Lacuna Coil themed and the other was Resident Evil themed. He's received a lot of compliments on them so far and I can't believe it! From what I understand, the band took a picture of their logo on my brother's nail! How cool is that!
Anyway, I hope you can understand why there aren't any videos this weekend. My brother means a lot to me and I want to spend time with him as much as I can before he goes back home.

I am way too excited for this week...NITTBRO IS COMING! I cannot wait to see Lacuna Coil with him, but since I am still learning of that band I sort of feel like a parent going with their excited kid to a concert. It’s time to explore Lacuna Coil sometime!

🔹Bruce Springsteen - “Kitty’s Back”
I am familiar with (sort of) “The Boss.” I have heard the well known songs like “Born to Run,” “Dancing in the Dark,” and “Born to Run,” so I know of the style of music he plays. I was suggested a track from an earlier album of his called “The Wild, The Innocent & The Street Shuffle” and I am excited about this. I cannot wait to check this out!
🔹Chloe Qisha - “21st Century Cool Girl”
I grew up in the age of pop music. I was a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC, The Spice Girls...I don’t mind it one bit! This artist was suggested to me over on Discord and she is a new pop artist from the UK. I already love the title of the song, so I cannot wait to check this out!

The last song of the BAND-MAIKO album apparently is a cover of BAND-MAID’s “Screaming” (have I gone on too long with this joke, yet?) so I am excited to check out the original version. The countdown to seeing y brother in April BEGINS! He’s coming to see one of his favorite bands, Lacuna Coil! I figured I would help him see his favorite band, since he got me tickets to Akira Yamaoka for my birthday. I’m excited for him since he has a meet and greet with the band and I think this is my brother’s first ever musical meet and greet! Anyway...weekend music reaction time!

The next song on the BAND-MAIKO album is “Ansan” which I have heard through the grapevine that this might be a cover of BAND-MAID’s “Anemone.” I wonder how the Maids feel about this! I have also heard that the aren’t friends? THE DRAMA! I’ve been enjoying the album so far. I wonder if this album was meant to be a homage to the Maids but the Maikos didn’t know how to tell them they thought they were cool? Who knows!

🔹Coheed and Cambria - “Gravemakers & Gunslingers”
I have done a couple of reactions to Coheed and Cambria already. The songs I got to experience so far were the longer epic sounding story-telling like tracks. Today we are checking out a song from the “No World for Tomorrow” album and from what I understand is that this a great standard rock banger and has some great musical things about it. There’s also some back story to the performance of the song that we will explore. I’m excited to check it out!

I looked this band up after reading the description I was given on Discord and oh baby, I think I am in for a ride! From what I understand Castle Rat is a Medieval fantasy doom metal band that focuses on lore-heavy story telling. Look...I’m a nerd. I live for this kind of stuff so I am excited to check out what this band is all about!

I saw that this performance was on YouTube and it was sent in the Discord channel. I got curious of what the set list was and I saw that I have heard all of these songs so...why not watch the show? Coming back from Spring Break was ROUGH. Being tired is one thing, but since it’s been warm enough for flowers to bloom and pollen to rise my allergies have been going INSANE! I’ve been sneezing, coughing, and wheezing (asthma). Top it all off, I got sick the other night. I don’t know what I ate, but it didn’t agree with me so much that it didn’t stay in my stomach. I am merely surviving right now. Any other teachers out there? We gotta hang in there. I also read that some of you have kids, friends and family that are or were teachers, and I wanted to tell those of you that I hope that they are doing well!

If you are watching any reactions I have done this week, I apologize deeply. I feel like I am talking about music on a more emotional level than an intellectual level lately. It can get tough towards the end of the school year to push through to the end and on top of that doing this, which doesn’t feel like work but still requires me to be present…I am not complaining! I refuse to do that. Honestly, the reactions this week feels like music therapy and I hope that’s okay.

I told my students that friends on the internet congratulated them for their achievements and they thought it was pretty cool. They don’t know much about my YouTube and Patreon since I try and keep those parts of my life somewhat separate, but I talk about some of the negative comments I get occasionally. I know they are kids still learning and growing, but it can be very validating when my high schoolers say, “It’s funny that people will argue with you about the pronunciation of your own instrument.” I like to think they are my cheerleaders and I am their coach in their corner. I love those kids even if they can drive me crazy sometimes! Anyway…I got sick this week. It must have been a freak thing because I am feeling okay now, but I was worried I would be sick all of my Spring break. I guess you have to take the good and the bad sometimes!

March is suddenly here and boy, has it been a great week! I will tell you all about it below if you are curious, but we are here for music reactions, anime reactions and BAND-MAID banter, so let’s get to it!
🎀BAND-MAID Sunday:
This Sunday we enter the final part of the Miku Kobato documentary. I am sad that it is coming to a close, but Ohrenje puts up a lot of awesome content so there’s always more to check out! I am excited to see what the last part has in store.

🔹Yuko Suzuhana - “SAMURAI DIVA”
I won’t lie...every time I scrolled past this one when I had to go back to posts before it, I was excited to see that this was the singer from Wagakki Band. I honestly need to dive more into Wagakki Band, but for now let’s check out Yuko side project with her amazing and beautiful singing voice!
🔹chilldspot - “Unbound”
If you give me an opportunity to explore some J-pop with a blend of other genres, I’m there! Apparently they can have a blend of pop with rock, funk or jazz. I’m always down for a good blend! BenJPR said this album was in their top 3 of 2025. We are going to trust their ears and dive into this track. Let’s go!
🔹BAND-MAID - “onset,” “Freedom,” and “Choose Me” from 10th Anniversary Yokohama Arena Show
I was given a few suggestions from last Sunday and we are going to check this out first! I was told there would be special things during these songs from this show, so I am going to isolate them and watch them. Now...I did see a suggestion for The Warning vlog in Japan. Keep a look out for it next week!

This is why this week was great: I got the opportunity to congratulate my students who made first divisions at UIL Solo & Ensemble contest for the first time at their high school! I sent 13 students and 12 of them made first divisions, meaning they performed to their best of their abilities. Two of those students qualified for Texas State Solo & Ensemble contest which is done by performing their music from memory. I am a proud “mama duck” and made to sure to congratulate them all for their hardwork! Anyway...I had to tell you about them and their cool accomplishments!
