Over the past decade, I've devoted myself to sharing the art of flute playing through private lessons, fostering a dynamic studio of 70 to 80 students. Beyond the practice room, my musical journey has led me to perform with professional symphonies as well as embrace the intimate settings of small pubs.

I have had the opportunity to check out Paul Gilbert playing “Cupid’s Dead” and then checking out a cover by Sena from DIH. I am excited to do another reaction to Paul Gilbert but in RACER X. After we listen to the original version of “Scarified” we will be checking out Li-sa X covering this song when she was 8 years old. AND THEN we will be watching Jill from Unlucky Morpheus cover it! 🔹AD INFINITUM - “Outer Space”
I see the words “symphonic metal” and I am IN. What is really interesting about this band is it originally started as a solo project of Swiss singer Melissa Bonny. The solo porject has since formed into a full fledged band with drummer Niklas Müller, bassist Jonas Asplind and guitarist Adrian Theßenvitz. I can’t wait to check them out.
🔹ChRocktikal - “Peace”
When I read that the singer of this group is a K-Pop star turned K-Rock star, I knew I had to check this out! Siyeon is/was a member of the K-Pop group called Dreamcatcher, and while it says that the group hasn’t formally disbanded, it does say that many members have gone on to do other projects. ChRocktikal is Siyeon’s current project!

I did an easy week of teaching masterclasses for one high school this week after coming back from the family reunion and I am feeling okay! I thought I would be exhausted! I am looking forward to this weekend’s reactions. It looks like I’ve got a lot of variety!

We did it! We got through the “ENERGETIC” mini-album together and it was a fun ride! I loved every single song on there, but I think “CAGE” ended up being my favorite. Anyway, we continue our journey through the Conqueror album with “The Dragon Cries.” For years I have had many people tell me that I needed to check out this song and now here we are! Let’s get it!

🔹Yes - “Roundabout”
When I saw this one coming up, I thought I didn’t know anything from YES. I looked them up on Google just to see if there was anything I might know, and it turns out that I have heard one song by them on one of my favorite video games growing up. I loved playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and I used to drive around the cityscape listening to Flash FM in-game and hearing many songs from the 80’s. This was the first time I had heard “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” I have never heard “Roundabout” so I am excited to check it out. Also...this band has been around for what seems like FOREVER, so we are going to dive into some history with them!
🔹So I’m a Spider, So What?, Aoi Yuki - “Ganbare Kumoko-chan” (Hang in there, Kumoko-chan)
When I see that name Aoi Yuki I think of Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries. Her career is so much more than this though. She began as a child actor at 4 years old and then broke out into voice acting in 2003. She is also a singer who started releasing singles since 2010! In this reaction today, we are checking out her voice acting and singing combined. I’m excited for this! Also...is “So I’m a Spider, So What?” a good anime? It looks interesting to me.

My editor Neenx messaged me the other day and they told me they were on the mend from being stung by some wasps.
He's also been working on some projects on his own that he needs to take some time with.
This means today's video is going to be late today since Neenx was working on feeling better and then doing his project that he needed to get done.
To make up for it, here's a picture of my cat's toe beans!!
I'm not sure how late it will be, but I teach until noon today...so...it will be after that.

🔹Steam Powered Giraffe - “Brass Goggles”
This group has had some changes to their lineup over the years, but their music never changes and I appreciate their musical consistency. If you have never heard of them or seen them before then you are in for a treat. They dress as automatons and mime as robots. While their movement is impressive, their music...it’s fun, it’s cute, it tells stories...you’ve got to check this out with me!
🔹 Lords of Trident - Power of Evil (ft. Grant Truesdell of Unleash the Archers)
I saw the term “nerdy power metal” and I got excited about this one. I looked them up and I liked a description they had of their band that read their band is so metal that “only diamonds can scratch it.” I know nothing about this group, but from what I read their style has a uniqueness to it so I am excited to check it out!

Part 1 was fun and I am excited for part 2! A lot of you mentioned you watched it while it was streamed online. I love being a teacher, but man does it get in the way of seeing the concerts live since they are usually at a time I have to be asleep for the next day. I hope someday that a livestream goes up when I can actually watch one without repercussions. I can’t get over Saiki’s solo moment with piano! What else is next?!

I have flute sectionals coming up with both high schools I work with and I am excited to see their (hopefully) summer fresh faces. Their TMEA All-Region music just came out so they have a long 6 months ahead of them to get it learned for their individual region auditions all while rehearsing for marching band competitions at the same time! Band is not for the faint of heart…!

I really enjoyed tuki’s music first first time I heard her. The second time, I was blown away from by a moving performance and learning that she was only 15(16?) at the time made my jaw drop! I am excited to check out another song from her. Her level of talent reminds me of ADO so if you are into that style of music, then tuki is for you! Come check this out with me!

As I have mentioned before while the school year was ending, I would be stepping back from marching band this year. I told me kiddos this and they weren’t happy about it, however I am still going to be teaching them them their marching band music sectionals. I couldn’t leave them high and dry like that. I am going to miss teaching their workouts in the morning and helping them get their feet go left-right-left-right, but I think it was time for me to make time for myself and the things I want to do and this, YouTube and Patreon, is really important to me. I want to keep doing this. I actually want to do more. We will have to see where this goes, but I am insanely happy to be here! Thank you for letting me be here!

This isn’t my first rodeo listening to Belle Sisoki, however it has been a while since I have checked her out. She’s a techno EDM composer who fuses ethnic instruments from her homeland, Malaysia. The thumbnail of this video seems to feature a lot of the unique instruments that she uses in her music, so I am excited to check this out!

I am late to the game here, but I am checking out one of the songs off this band’s EP released earlier this year. RIRIKO started out as a J-Pop singer but her sound started to evolve. This lead her to a more rock style. Formerly called the “RIRIKO band,” NELKE is gaining more popularity, so why not check them out?

This week we check out “Dilemma!” When I saw the title of this song I really wanted to know what the band’s dilemma was about. I always like to think about what was Miku’s inspiration for the lyrics. The definition of a dilemma according to Merriam-Webster is a difficult situation requiring a choice between two or more undesireable or conflicting alternatives. What are those two conflicting ideas? Let’s check it out!

🔹Melt - “Plant the Garden”
It’s been a while since I have listened to a song from Melt and I am glad to be back again! “Sour Candy” was a great tune and I absolutely loved the band and the vocalist. This song comes off their more recent album “If There’s a Heaven” and apparently we will get a showcase of Veronica, the singer’s voice!
🔹Sohyang - “Moving On”
I have only had the opportunity to check out one of Sohyang’s original songs before now. I am excited to listen to “Moving On.” I was told that this song is about a personal experience in her life. I love that music is her healing outlet! It’s been a while so I’m excited to check this out!
🔹BAND-MAID - “Dilemma” from 2020 World Domination Tour
Look…I really love this album. Period. I know it’s a favorite of mine. I have also really loved what I have seen from the World Domination Tour show. I like to check out the live shows because I love to watch the energy of the Maids. This album was made to have some medium tempo songs for the Maids to take a breather, but seeing their energy on stage during these songs leads me to believe that they only know how to bring it on stage!
