🎀BAND-MAID SUNDAY🎀-Small Break
I am going to take a small break from BAND-MAID reactions on Sunday for a little bit. I was going through a list that has been made of my reactions from Patreon and YouTube and it seems I have covered all the albums so far. I know Unseen World is not on YouTube. The reason for that is a full in depth reaction is done of the entire album on Patreon with the Unseen World score analysis. When BAND-MAID releases more music, which they are, I will jump back in!

With a break from BAND-MAID, I honestly felt a little lost and worried that many people would be upset with me for wanting to explore a band that I REALLY want to listen to and look into. After talking it over in my Discord with a few members, I decided to take the jump.

I am interested in listening and analyzing this because this is not the first time I’ve heard about this show on YouTube. I have a student who’s mentioned this show that exists on YouTube and I thought it was crazy that it was free on the platform. Spadeas wants me to check this out and after them explaining that it’s a comedy/horror show...now I’m intrigued!

The first week back wasn’t crazy…sort of. I did accidentally schedule some students at the wrong time and some of my students were transferred into a different band class so adjustments had to be made. Other than that, it was a smooth(?) week.

🎀BAND-MAID Sunday:
We are at the final song on the album and I already did a reaction to it so of course we are going to do some research on it! This might be my hardest research subject yet, but I was interested in the idea when I read what Saiki said about RINNE. When I was doing some light BAND-MAID reading I came across a reddit thread about the RINNE music video and there seemed to be some divisive thoughts on how the music video was shot. I’m not a camera buff so this might be educational for me and you!

🔹Ayreon - “Loser”
Ayreon is a music project lead by Dutch composer Arjen Anthony Lucassen and I did a reaction to the song “The Day That the World Breaks Down.” That performance felt like a rock opera with some interesting musically artistic choices. I haven’t had a chance to check out a live performance yet, so I am excited to check this out.
🔹Lawrence - “Guy I Used To Be”
I’ve done a few reactions to Lawrence and while those reactions really showcase Gracie, we do get some of Clyde’s vocals too. In this track we are supposed to get more of an earful of Clyde’s soulful vocals so I cannot wait to hear this song! ...and yeah, we are doing a back-to-back reaction!

🔹AD INFINITUM - “Outer Space”
I see the words “symphonic metal” and I am IN. What is really interesting about this band is it originally started as a solo project of Swiss singer Melissa Bonny. The solo porject has since formed into a full fledged band with drummer Niklas Müller, bassist Jonas Asplind and guitarist Adrian Theßenvitz. I can’t wait to check them out.
🔹ChRocktikal - “Peace”
When I read that the singer of this group is a K-Pop star turned K-Rock star, I knew I had to check this out! Siyeon is/was a member of the K-Pop group called Dreamcatcher, and while it says that the group hasn’t formally disbanded, it does say that many members have gone on to do other projects. ChRocktikal is Siyeon’s current project!

I did an easy week of teaching masterclasses for one high school this week after coming back from the family reunion and I am feeling okay! I thought I would be exhausted! I am looking forward to this weekend’s reactions. It looks like I’ve got a lot of variety!

We did it! We got through the “ENERGETIC” mini-album together and it was a fun ride! I loved every single song on there, but I think “CAGE” ended up being my favorite. Anyway, we continue our journey through the Conqueror album with “The Dragon Cries.” For years I have had many people tell me that I needed to check out this song and now here we are! Let’s get it!

When I saw this one coming up, I thought I didn’t know anything from YES. I looked them up on Google just to see if there was anything I might know, and it turns out that I have heard one song by them on one of my favorite video games growing up. I loved playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and I used to drive around the cityscape listening to Flash FM in-game and hearing many songs from the 80’s. This was the first time I had heard “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” I have never heard “Roundabout” so I am excited to check it out. Also...this band has been around for what seems like FOREVER, so we are going to dive into some history with them!
🔹So I’m a Spider, So What?, Aoi Yuki - “Ganbare Kumoko-chan” (Hang in there, Kumoko-chan)
When I see that name Aoi Yuki I think of Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries. Her career is so much more than this though. She began as a child actor at 4 years old and then broke out into voice acting in 2003. She is also a singer who started releasing singles since 2010! In this reaction today, we are checking out her voice acting and singing combined. I’m excited for this! Also...is “So I’m a Spider, So What?” a good anime? It looks interesting to me.

My editor Neenx messaged me the other day and they told me they were on the mend from being stung by some wasps.
He's also been working on some projects on his own that he needs to take some time with.
This means today's video is going to be late today since Neenx was working on feeling better and then doing his project that he needed to get done.
To make up for it, here's a picture of my cat's toe beans!!

🔹Steam Powered Giraffe - “Brass Goggles”
This group has had some changes to their lineup over the years, but their music never changes and I appreciate their musical consistency. If you have never heard of them or seen them before then you are in for a treat. They dress as automatons and mime as robots. While their movement is impressive, their music...it’s fun, it’s cute, it tells stories...you’ve got to check this out with me!
🔹 Lords of Trident - Power of Evil (ft. Grant Truesdell of Unleash the Archers)
I saw the term “nerdy power metal” and I got excited about this one. I looked them up and I liked a description they had of their band that read their band is so metal that “only diamonds can scratch it.” I know nothing about this group, but from what I read their style has a uniqueness to it so I am excited to check it out!

Part 1 was fun and I am excited for part 2! A lot of you mentioned you watched it while it was streamed online. I love being a teacher, but man does it get in the way of seeing the concerts live since they are usually at a time I have to be asleep for the next day. I hope someday that a livestream goes up when I can actually watch one without repercussions. I can’t get over Saiki’s solo moment with piano! What else is next?!

I have flute sectionals coming up with both high schools I work with and I am excited to see their (hopefully) summer fresh faces. Their TMEA All-Region music just came out so they have a long 6 months ahead of them to get it learned for their individual region auditions all while rehearsing for marching band competitions at the same time! Band is not for the faint of heart…!
