Nice to meet you! My name is Stefan, and I’m passionate about capturing life’s extraordinary moments through photography.
I love to travel, connect with people from around the globe, and explore the fascinating places our planet has to offer. My goal is to capture rare moments that create lasting memories.
The exceptional quality of my photos reflects my dedication to this art.
But always keep this in mind: "Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler."

Now go to the Fairlight section, more precisely to the Loudness display.
There you set it to 1770-4 (with 1770-1 it can still come to an overmodulation in rare cases, is an older procedure for the calculation).
Now you just have to make sure that you are at + or - 0.0db.
Short and Short Max is self explanatory
Range means the range between the loudest and the most powerful sounds. The larger this value, the more dynamic is contained in the sound.
Integrated is the average value and most relevant for Youtube, see Screenhot.
Start, Pause and Reset are for the Loudness measurements.
In the screenshot you can also see a master limiter.
With this you can limit e.g. too loud peaks (see arrow). All in all, you can make the sound more harmonic and finer.
However, this is only worthwhile if the individual audio tracks are already quite well mixed. The master limiter is the icing on the cake, so to speak.
Under the limiter you can see, for example, the stereo base display and adjust it via the audio tracks.
Of course, you can tell much more about it in detail.
It is all quite simple explained by me to get as quickly as possible to good results, but often that is quite enough.
The rest, like compressor on individual audio tracks, EQ, etc, you can easily work out yourself.
Have fun with it
Stefan

But how can you influence and judge this in video editing now?
YouTube's guidelines are -14 LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale).
Anything above or below that is too loud or too quiet.
You must correct this value in Davinci Resolve:

Here again, the video was too loud (+4.9), YouTube had actively intervened and lowered the volume with all the disadvantages.
Therefore, 57% can now be seen here, the stronger the intervention, the less % is displayed. 100% would be unchanged.

Tip: Adjust volume correctly for YouTube (example for Davinci Resolve) Part 1/4
I always notice that self-produced videos with their own voice are often too quiet.
Videos with music are usually too loud.
If the audio track is uploaded to YouTube too quietly, this is not changed, but some of the viewers will click away because they simply do not want to readjust the volume especially for you and correct it again at the next clip with normal usual level.
If the videos are uploaded with an audio track that is too loud, YouTube will in turn automatically lower the volume and thus correct it.
But if you want to achieve maximum quality, the goal must be not to let YouTube intervene, i.e. it must not be too quiet or too loud.
Here you can see, the video was too quiet for YouTube (-6.8db on average), the end device must be set louder.
100% means that YouTube did not change anything here.

My new Color Grading Control Surface for DaVinci Resolve Studio.
So happy with it, finally save a lot of time in post processing.
Should have bought it many years ago! Sometimes the realization comes late :-)

A look at my little home editing suite. I like to use the active stylus, the surface dial and also the touchscreen. You can work creatively and very directly on the image material. All input options have their individual advantages.

Here you can ask me all kinds of questions about the technology (video editing, software, image composition, exposure time, color grading, color spaces, codec, airspace, drones, Apps, Plugins, ...)
Just try it out 🙂
