Welcome to Reel Deal Outdoors Stories. This is the second channel in the Reel Deal Outdoors TV family, and will focus on dynamic storytelling of accounts of man (and woman) vs wild. I've been an avid outdoorsman for my entire life. I love to be in the outdoors as an active participant in nature. Sometimes, for those of us who venture into wild places, we may encounter nature's wrath. That's what the videos on this channel are all about. You won't simply find the sterile, regurgitated google search facts here. We take a more creative approach of building the most likely scenario based on the facts. Moreover, there are lessons to be learned through these experiences. Dangerous animal encounters, strange occurrences in the wild, outdoors experiences gone wrong. This is all about the horrors of the natural world and the conflicts with those who spend time there. Thanks so much for watching! I'm going to go on a little bit of a rant here because this drives me up the wall. The comment I get most often on every one of these videos is "How could you know what happened if you weren't there?" or "How can they know what happened if no one ever saw or talked to so and so again?" Well first of all, the accounts that I do these videos about, unless otherwise stated, come from reputable news sources. I don't make it up. How do THEY know what happened? The same way a forensic investigator can piece together a murder despite no one witnessing it. Evidence! There's always evidence left behind that paints a picture of what likely happened. Take the Peter Reimers story for example. He never showed back up to camp so his mates went looking for him. At the scene they found his shirt neatly folded and placed by a tree. His watch had been removed and laid there as well. They found his boot prints headed to the creek bank, then found what appeared to be prints of him running from the bank and signs of a struggle. Then of course his remains strewn around the area and inside this massive crocodile. What do those things suggest? That he likely had setup on that tree to hunt, he got hot so he took off his shirt and decided to cool off by the creek where he was ambushed by the croc π€·ββοΈ Now, to be fair, I'll use certain elements to immerse the viewer in the story such as adding little details like the forest going quiet (which we know happens often when a big predator is present) or the victim got a strange feeling as though being watched (which is another matter... that's not speaking for the dead. It's describing an involuntary physical response to outside stimuli, just as stating someone would be sweating if we know it was 100ΒΊ outside.) It's hard for me to grasp how people don't understand the concept of evidence. And it's not just a handful of people... it's a LOT! We'll never know the exact series of events regarding one of these attacks without eyewitnesses, but it isn't impossible to paint a fairly clear picture of what happened when you have the evidence left at the scene.

I'm thinking one more croc story before I move on. This time not so obscure. Some of you will know his name just from the photo... but most everyone knows him by name... Gustave. Conducting research, script is in the works. People seemed to enjoy the most recent video and how it's structured so I'm going to do some more like that... More of a documentary feel to them. It kind of broadens what stories I can tell here. I'm going to do my best to knock a couple more out before I get pulled back into other endeavors. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back!

It's been a year, but there is finally new content on this channel π Please, if you have time, go check out this insane story from medieval Russia. This is one I'm certain few have ever heard about. The Pskov crocodile attacks of 1582. Enjoy βΊοΈ

We live in an age where shark movies have become a bit of a joke. There are very few that get me excited anymore, and only a couple that have ever been made that I think are truly deserving of praise in terms of story and quality. But there are a couple coming out this year that have caught my eye. Fear Below, which appears to be an Australian film that takes place in the 40s, looks pretty awesome. The mob hires a small dive crew to recover the contents of a vehicle that was driven into a freshwater river, but there are large bull sharks in the area. The mob then forces them into the water with threats of force. I looks really well done with practical effects, which is rare now days. It's a more original take on the whole shark thing. Then there's "Dangerous Animals," which doesn't give too many details in the trailer, but it looks like it could be the most original shark film in a very, very long time. It appears to be less about the sharks, and more about a serial killer posing as the captain of a cage diving charter to lure young women out to sea, where he ties them to a winch, makes them bleed, then dangles them over the water until their blood attracts sharks... he then feeds them to the sharks and films it π³ It was a simple trailer but looks incredibly disturbing. Especially once you realize what's going on and you can see how many victims' videos are on his trophy shelf. Hollywood isn't really doing original much anymore... but both of these movies are looking promising for the genre.

Not gonna lie... I'm not sure how this particular video is going to be received. It's a bit different from what I typically do. It's more of a historical documentary in ways than what I'd usually produce. But MidJourney dropped a new model and the images for this are next level! I'm pretty excited. The AI didn't used to be able to distinguish a crocodile from an alligator and you'd almost always end up with something that looked like a weird, cartoonish mashup between the two. It's almost dead on now! Still a little finicky but it's much, much better. This video is almost a wrap. It's a story I'm pretty certain most have never heard. Very obscure. I haven't found another video about it on YouTube and I haven't found a lot about it period! It's hard to be different when so many people are producing content. That's going to be the goal moving forward.

I have a completed script, images are being produced, and I'm laying the groundwork for a new video. This one is another really obscure account that's off the wall like the sharks of Ahwaz. I don't want to get hopes up because I've gotten close before and had to abandon for other things that came up, but I'm hoping to get this complete very soon and uploaded. Maybe by this weekend. Fingers crossed π€

Well, I find myself coming on here to apologize once again for the lack of new content on this channel. I really truly appreciate all of the support from you all. I'm still adamant that I'm not done here. I assure you all, with the success this channel has had if I had the time to dedicate to keeping it going I absolutely would. But I have a lot of other irons on the fire and many of those things take priority. This channel was never meant to be a money making business, and to be totally honest I never thought it would gain any traction at all. When it did I was quite surprised. But this isn't a major money producer, and to be honest I wouldn't be comfortable if it were as these stories, I don't feel, are appropriate to profit from. I'm content with this being a hobby and drawing just enough to pay for the subscriptions necessary to produce the content. I do still have a couple of stories on the table that I'm working on slowly as time permits. Stick with me! Thank you all again.

Still working on a video for y'all... it's just slow going. I have some free time coming up and hope to finish while I have the opportunity. Also began work on another project that will go right along with this channel that I'm excited to kind of announce. I'm writing a fictional novel. I'm not at liberty to give the plot away at this time, but it's shark related and the story is very unique in the genre, and will be very true to realism. It will NOT feature a white shark, yet is very Jaws-like in nature... different species, different environment, totally unique and different scenario. I'm excited about it and will likely use this channel to launch it into the world once it's finished. But keep an eye out in the coming days. I'll hopefully upload soon. Thanks to everyone for the patience and continued support as always. I'm looking into ways to make this channel more productive. The hope is to create more content this coming year. Hope you all had a great holiday and happy new year to you all!
