I am a 3D soft sculpture artist best known for crochet coral reef aquariums. My artwork is made up of coral, sea creatures and plants of all sizes, shapes, colors and textures.
The inspiration for my work came from the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef at the Smithsonian Museum. I am constantly drawing inspiration from organic shapes that are found in nature and in the ocean’s coral reefs.
While living in a technology-driven world, I believe it is still important to have tactile, real world experiences. I want to share the sense of joy and childlike wonder I felt as I explored the crochet coral reef for the first time.
