does the length of the clip affect your decision to watch it? e.g. "hey that could be interestin- aw man it's 10 mins long i'll just watch something else"
【Notice】 My motherboard decided it's a good time to stop powering on 😔 That plus moving to another city means I'll have to halt my clipping activities for a while. I've set up a ko-fi page below if you would like to support me financially, but watching clips is 100% sufficient support! Don't feel pressured to use the ko-fi page!
I'll be back after a short break no longer than a month! I'll try my best to get everything sorted so I can get back to clipping again ASAP.
life update: i quit my job to go back to university.
clio inspired me to get my postgrad degree, do forgive me for clips being slow to churn out while i'm moving between cities. hope everything goes well for you and your loved ones in the meantime.
hey you might have noticed that i've not been putting hard subs in recent clips -- I talked to a few people and came to a conclusion that Clio's speech clarity is good enough that people who needs subs can use the YouTube closed captions (CC) function and it'll work just fine.
As I've mentioned before, making hard subs take up a huge portion of the time in the making of a clip, so I've decided to only do hard subs when the situation requires it (e.g. a collab or unclear audio) or if I feel like it makes the video experience better, so that I can use the time for other aspects of the video, e.g. more fact checking/more edits/more clips being produced. Cheers!
Fun fact: I can pretty reliably identify Clio's "uhm"s from the audio wave.
Hey, if you're interested in some behind the scenes talk from Clio's 3D showcase, Mako has a great section talking about the difficulties of getting the model to work in this stream about 20 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymu10...
did the latest two videos get pushed onto your feed? The numbers look out of place, and I'm trying to figure out if it's because of shorts being prioritized over longs. I've heard before that if you upload shorts, then longs might not get pushed. If it seems like it is, then I might stop doing shorts for a while because longs are what I really want to do.
Hey, is having hard subs in the video a dealbreaker for you? Most of the time spent editing a video is on adjusting the timing of the subs, so I was wondering if it's worth the time or should I spend the time focusing on other aspects of the videos.
new clip is gonna in the oven for a bit longer because i'm taking my time animating stuff trying to get better at conveying information and anecdotes visually
