1. It’s ok to be honest with yourself about how you feel and why.

2. You have the right to set boundaries for your mental & emotional health.

3. Honor/process your emotions. Journaling is a great way to do that.

4. Parent/nurture yourself. Learn to give yourself what you didn’t get/don’t have.

5. Embrace our Heavenly Father’s/Parent’s love for you. Ask God to help you experience His love.

6. Extra tip! Celebrate the woman/women in your life who fulfilled that role!!

Thankfully, when the ocean 🌊 called this time we were able to go!🙌🏽 We headed 🛫 south after “The Overflow Life Women’s Empowerment Conference” - to see, smell, pray near, nap near, and listen to the ocean waves, feeling more mentally & physically relaxed with each passing minute.😎

In fact, if you compare the first pic (heading to the beach) to the last pic (returning from the beach), you can see that we were visibly more relaxed - smiles bigger, conversation easier, laughter louder. We just felt more in sync.👩🏽‍❤️‍👨🏾

Honestly, the challenge has been maintaining it as we get back into our regular routines.🤦🏽‍♀️ #tryingtostaymindful

Fun fact: I love the ocean but don’t like the sand. So, I prefer to be sand-adjacent.🤭

Recently, my hubby, Oyama, and I were discussing how maturity is a choice.
Choosing to grow beyond our previous versions requires self-awareness and a willingness to change as God convicts our hearts.

The challenge is that growth can be hard and painful, so we tend to resist it, staying in our comfort zones and repeating old patterns.

But, I believe the pain of staying the same is even worse because we miss out on what God has for us, and our relationships suffer.

The question is, "Are we willing to keep surrendering to God's growth process?"
It's a daily choice to remain a work in progress.
