After losing our 19 year son Jordan Martin McNair from complications of a heat stroke suffered on the first day of football practice at The University of Maryland in 2018.
We kept asking ourselves while Jordan was fighting for his life in the hospital .
What did we miss and if we don't know these things about this type of injury how many other parents of student athletes in America don't know about them?
After establishing The Jordan McNair Foundation a few days after Jordan's passing . Our Mission is to Promote Awareness, Education and the Prevention of Heat Related Injuries as well as diminish the number of preventable sports related tragedies.
Our goal is to educate parents , coaches and student athletes of their safety on and off the field through our experiences of raising a successful highly recruited student athlete. The more educated we all are about student athlete safety the safer all of our student athletes will be.
