New Review Video! When it comes to stereo photography on film, the View Master Personal Stereo camera might be a perfect little starter camera on account of the number of shots it delivers and its ease of use. But first, you need to acquaint yourself with its many (and we mean many) quirks. Fortunately, you can do that in this video!

Our older son is ready for actual Legos and he found a couple of sets under the tree Christmas morning. We were spending time in the studio building them together so I figured why not use them to practice some tabletop photography. This is our first tabletop shoot done in years so forgive the rough edges.

Headshots? Of course we do headshots! I thought you knew that. We had the one and only Millie in the studio for a refresh on her headshots and we were thrilled to capture them.

Albert Picon, a saxophonist and flutist about town, stopped by the studio for some headshots and this is what we captured. I feel like we’re nailing the dark and moody look. Now to figure out about a brighter, airy vibe for the studio…

If we're doing a week of portraits, let's do it! These are from the archives (August 2015 on a Sony A7s) and the model is the one and only April Iman.
High-end love hotels are one of the most fun places to shoot in Japan as they tend to be really well designed with lots of creativity and flair; whether you use that design to give your photos some extra visual punch that you couldn't get elsewhere or you soak up the vibes for creative inspiration, you can't go wrong. And when the shoot is finished, you can take a nap! Everybody wins!

When a model like Nahjhe swings by the studio for portraits, your work as a photographer is 90% finished. All that’s left to do is turn on a couple of lights and make sure your camera is tethered to the capture software. Everything else sort of happens by magic.
Black and whites are digital:
- Canon 5Diii
- 24-105mm f4.0 & 50mm f1.8
- CaptureOne
The color shots are Kodak Vision 3 250t. We’re still in testing with different stocks and Vision is our current favorite for portrait stills. It’s heightened without losing realism. Film gear was:
- Mamiya NC100s
- 50mm f1.7
